ルーカス・ポドルスキは2017年夏に神戸入り。2018シーズンから神戸の主将を務め、今シーズンが2年目だった。次のように綴っている。
「神戸サポーターの皆さん、こんにちは。残念なお知らせがあります。自分はヴィッセル神戸のキャプテンの座から降りる事になりました」
「ここ数週間の苦しくて悔しいチームの状況と同じように自分にとっても難しい決断でした。喜びと誇りを持ってやってきていたので複雑な思いです」

来日5年‥家族も2人増えたイニエスタの妻が改めて心境を綴る「この冒険を一緒に生き続けることは光栄です!」
