日本代表のオリジナル絵文字がツイッターに登場! W杯メンバー全26名対応のユニフォームデザイン

数的不利のU-23中国戦。圧倒的存在感を見せた23歳の若き守護神・小久保玲央ブライアン【新しい景色へ導く期待の選手/vol.38】

2024年パリ五輪出場権獲得を目指し、16日のU-23中国戦からアジア最終予選を兼ねたAFC・U-23アジアカップ(カタール)に挑んでいるU-23日本代表。「ワールドカップ(W杯)にしても、五輪にしても、アジア予選は一筋縄ではいかない」と言われるが、まさに初戦から予想外の展開となった。開始早々の8分に右FW山田楓喜(東京V)のピンポイントクロスに松木玖生(FC東京)が鋭く反応。左足を合わせて先制点を叩き込んだところまでは最高のスタートだと思われた。ところが、前半16分に西尾隆矢(C大阪)が左腕で背後にいた相手選手を振り払い、それが顔面を直撃。倒れ込んだプレーがVAR判定の対象になり、一発レッドカードが突きつけられる。守備陣の大黒柱の1人が退場というまさかの事態に、大岩剛監督も選手たちも動揺したに違いない。そこから木村誠二(鳥栖)が出てくるまでの5分間はセンターバック(CB)経験のある関根大輝(柏)が中に絞り、松木が左サイドバック(SB)に下がり、内野貴史(デュッセルドルフ)が本来の右SBへ移動。これでしのぐ形になった。そして木村がCBに入ってからは関根が右SB、内野が左SBに戻り、松木がボランチに上がるという形で落ち着きを取り戻す。関根、松木、内野という複数ポジションのこなせる人材がいたことは、苦境の日本にとって非常に大きな意味があったと言える。とはいえ、この先は中国に攻め込まれ、日本は防戦一方の戦いを強いられる。そこで異彩を放ったのが、小久保玲央ブライアン(ベンフィカ)。柏レイソルU-18からトップチームを経由することなく、2019年1月にベンフィカU-23に加入し、5年以上の月日をポルトガルで過ごしている国際経験豊富な守護神が堂々と相手に立ちはだかったのだ。小久保は前半42分の決定的なヘディングシュートを巧みに防ぐと、前半終了間際のミドルシュートもストップ。後半開始早々にカウンターを浴び、1対1になった最大のピンチでも確実にシュートを阻止し、チーム全体に勇気を与えた。その後も何本かビッグチャンスを止め、完封勝利をお膳立て。もちろんチーム全体の一体感と結束力が大きかったのは間違いないが、小久保という安心感を与えてくれるGKがいたことで、日本は極めて厳しい一戦を1-0で制することができた。「自分の中でも落ち着いてプレーできたし、チームを助けるプレーがチームとしてもできた。勝利に貢献できてよかった」と本人は試合後のフラッシュインタビューで安堵感をのぞかせたが、落ち着き払った一挙手一投足は目を見張るものがあった。それこそが、5年超のポルトガル経験の賜物だろう。今のところまだトップチームでの公式戦出場機会には恵まれていないが、ベンフィカU-23、ベンフィカB、トップと着実にステップを踏んでGKとしてのスキルを磨き続けている。異国でゴールマウスを守るというのは、そう簡単なことではない。過去にも川口能活(磐田GKコーチ)、川島永嗣(磐田)、権田修一(清水)といったA代表経験者たちも欧州の門をたたいたが、言葉や文化の壁もあって、周囲からの信頼を勝ち取ることの難しさを痛感してきたという。そういった作業を10代の頃から続けているというのは特筆すべき点だ。人知れず困難に直面した時もあっただろうし、トップデビューを果たせない焦燥感や悔しさを味わったことも少なくないだろう。それでも先を見据えてコツコツと努力してきたからこそ、こういった大舞台で最高のパフォーマンスを出せる。小久保は自分が積み重ねてきたことが間違っていなかったと確信できたのではないだろうか。彼がU-23中国戦で異彩を放ったことで、今後の五輪代表守護神、そしてA代表守護神を巡る争いが熾烈になりそうだ。ご存じの通り、1〜2月のアジアカップ(カタール)では小久保と同じパリ五輪世代の鈴木彩艶(シントトロイデン)が全試合に出場。現時点での正GKという位置づけだが、彼のプレーには一抹の不安も感じられる。今大会に参戦している野澤大志ブランドン(FC東京)もアジアカップメンバーの意地があるはずだし、3人の競争意識は一気に高まるだろう。そこにアジアカップ参戦組の前川黛也(神戸)、ケガで同大会を欠場した大迫敬介(広島)、昨夏の移籍トラブルで代表から遠ざかっているシュミット・ダニエル(ヘント)らが加わってくる。ここから誰が抜け出すのかというのは非常に興味深いテーマ。まだ代表復帰を諦めていない権田らベテランも含め、今後の展開が気になる。いずれにしても、小久保にはこの先もしっかりと最後尾から守備陣を引き締めてもらわなければいけない。西尾が最低3試合の出場停止処分を食らう可能性も高まっているだけに、より後ろからの声掛けや指示が重要になる。彼が君臨することで「日本のゴールマウスはそう簡単にこじ開けられない」という印象が強まれば、対戦相手もやりにくくなる。23歳の若き守護神のさらなる活躍を楽しみに待ちたい。 <hr>【文・元川悦子】<br/><div id="cws_ad">長野県松本市生まれ。千葉大学卒業後、夕刊紙記者などを経て、94年からフリーのサッカーライターとなる。Jリーグ、日本代表、海外まで幅広くフォローし、日本代表は特に精力的な取材を行い、アウェイでもほぼ毎試合足を運んでいる。積極的な選手とのコミュニケーションを活かして、選手の生の声を伝える。 <span class="paragraph-title">【動画】小久保玲央ブライアンがビッグセーブ連発で日本のピンチを救う!</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <script>var video_id ="hszXHBrGzek";var video_start = 265;</script><div style="text-align:center;"><div id="player"></div></div><script src="https://web.ultra-soccer.jp/js/youtube_autoplay.js"></script> 2024.04.17 12:50 Wed

J1昇格へ再挑戦する清水が選手背番号を発表! 復帰組を含めて13名が新たに加入、鹿島から加入のGK沖悠哉が「1」を付ける
