父親のティム・ケイヒルはオーストラリア代表として幾度も日本代表の前に立ちはだかった

ブリスベン・ロアーは19日、エバートンのアカデミーからMFシェイ・ケイヒル(18)を複数年契約で獲得したことを発表した。

シェイ・ケイヒルは、かつては"日本の天敵"とも称されたオーストラリア代表の英雄、FWティム・ケイヒル氏の息子。父もプレーしたエバートンのアカデミーに14歳から所属し、攻撃的なMFとして昨季はU-18プレミアリーグで9試合に出場し3アシストを記録した。

母国でトップチームのキャリアをスタートさせる有望株。クラブの最高経営責任者(CEO)カズ・パタフタ氏も「エキサイティングな時代がやってくる」と、太鼓判を押している。

「ワールドクラスのエバートンアカデミーから来たシェイ・ケイヒルとの契約を発表できてうれしく思う。このような有望な若いミッドフィールダーを確保することは、若い才能をトップチームに統合するというクラブの新しいビジョンの証です。シェイの加入は、ロアーのファミリーにエキサイティングな時代がやってくることを約束します」

また、父親のティム・ケイヒル氏からも「おめでとうございます。あなたをとても誇りに思います。君自身のサッカーを楽しんで、夢を追い続けてください」と、自身のSNSでエールが送られている。

アレクサンダー=アーノルドが刺殺された12歳の少女へ哀悼の意「RIP AVA WHITE」
