シティ、アルゼンチン代表FWフリアン・アルバレス獲得が決定的に! リーグ戦21試合18G7Aで7年ぶり優勝に貢献

マンチェスター・シティが、リーベル・プレートに所属するアルゼンチン代表FWフリアン・アルバレス(21)の獲得を決定的なものにしたようだ。複数メディアが報じている。

リーベル・プレートの下部組織出身のアルバレスは、2018年にトップチームデビュー。同年12月に行われたクラブ・ワールドカップで3位決定戦で鹿島アントラーズと対戦した際にもフル出場していた。

その後、少しずつ出場機会を増やし、2021年には公式戦32試合に出場。リベルタドーレスでは11試合で5ゴール2アシストを記録した。

2021年から本格的にトップチームに定着すると、ここでストライカーとして才能が開花。国内リーグのスーペルリーガでは21試合で18ゴール7アシストという成績を残し、クラブの7年ぶりの優勝に大きく貢献。全体では公式戦46試合で24ゴール15アシストの数字を叩き出した。

また、昨年6月には代表デビューも果たしており、コパ・アメリカ2021でもボリビア代表戦に出場。多くの欧州ビッグクラブが注目していたアルゼンチンの至宝を、シティは1500万ポンド(約23億円)の移籍金で獲得したようだ。

ただ、すぐにシチズンズ加入というわけではなく、早くても今夏の加入になると伝えられている。一方で、2022年はリーベル・プレートに残り、2023年1月に加わる可能性もあるという。

シティにとってアルゼンチン人ストライカーと言えばセルヒオ・アグエロだが、アルバレスは身長170cmと、173cmのアグエロと似た体格を持っており、嫌でもレジェンドと比較されることになるかもしれない。
