昨季限りでパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)の指揮官を退任し、現在はフリーのポチェッティーノ氏。同氏はイギリス『The Athletic』のコラム内で、かつて自身が指導したトッテナムのFWハリー・ケイン、PSGのFWキリアン・ムバッペの両者を褒め称えている。

「ハリー(・ケイン)はゲームに関与しながらリズムをつくっていく選手だが、キリアン(・ムバッペ)はその真逆。ボールに触れなくともリラックスしており、常に強い自信を持っている。足下にボールが来れば、相手をなぎ倒していく」
ケインは4年前のロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)で得点王に。ムバッペはカタールW杯において現時点で得点ランキングの単独首位に。世界で唯一、両者を指導した経験を持つポチェッティーノ氏は、チャンスがあれば自身の下で両者を一緒にプレーさせたいという願望を語った。

「キリアンはフットボールを観るのも、話すのも大好きな青年。才能豊かな選手は戦術や組織、チームプレーに関心を示さない場合があるが、彼はそうではないよ」
「ゴールに最も集中している一方、戦術の話も大好きなのさ。これがハリーとキリアンを結びつけるポイントだ。本来、大物選手はフットボールのみを愛し、戦術への理解は好まない」

「トッテナムがハリーを売りたがるわけないし、彼自身もクラブを愛している。だが、もし退団するようならまた一緒に仕事したいね。2人の偉大なアタッカーを一緒にさせるなら、ケインとムバッペで決まりだ」

なお、ケイン擁するイングランド代表とムバッペ擁するフランス代表は、10日に行われるカタールW杯準々決勝でベスト4進出を懸けて激突する。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

イングランド代表が新ユニフォームを発表、赤ではなくなったアウェイは賛否分かれる「初めてじゃないか?」「そのチョイスはなしだ」

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」
