日本代表の決勝点の場面をスペイン『マルカ』も取り上げている。1日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のグループE最終節で日本はスペイン代表と対戦。試合は前半にアルバロ・モラタにゴールを許し0-1で後半を迎えると、ハーフタイムに堂安律と三笘薫を投入する。
一気に攻勢をかけた日本は48分にその堂安のゴールで同点に。そしてその5分後に三笘薫がラインギリギリのところで折り返し、田中碧がゴールを決めて逆転。VARのチェックが入る中、非常に微妙な判定ながらわずかにラインを割っておらず、ゴールが認められた。
スペインの大手メディアである『マルカ』はこのシーンに言及。「W杯の論争。VARが全てを変える日本へのゴールを与えたが、ボールは入っていたのか?」と記した。
また、「VARで判定が覆るかと思いきや、数分後に『ボール全体がフィールドを出ていない』という判定が下され、結局ゴールは与えられた。この判定が決定的となり、日本は試合に勝ってグループEの首位に立ち、スペインは2位通過となった。そして、もう1試合でコスタリカを4-2で破ったドイツは敗退が決定した」とも伝え、この決勝ゴールが全てを変えたとしている。

「何度見ても鳥肌」ブラジルW杯出場を掴んだ本田圭佑の豪州戦“ど真ん中PK”にファン大興奮「やっぱメンタル強すぎ」

「爽やか〜」「かっこよすぎ」田中碧のニューヘアーが大絶賛、大先輩も「髪型グーやん」

「三笘っぽい」「イケメンすぎ」俳優・神尾楓珠が日本代表新ユニを『オールドルーキー』最終回で着用、一部で困惑も「本物より先に着ちゃうのか」
