たった1つのミスが失点に直結するゴールキーパー(GK)というポジション。当然ながらGKがゴールを決めることはほとんどなく、ストライカーやドリブラーに比べて目立ちにくい部分もある。しかし、裏を返せばセーブひとつでチームを救うこともできる、勝敗のカギを握るポジションとも言える。今回の企画『Unbelievable Saves』(信じられないセーブ)では、各クラブの守護神たちが見せた驚きのセーブを紹介していく。

◆ユーベで躍動するシュチェスニーのダブルセーブ

今回はユベントスのポーランド代表GKヴォイチェフ・シュチェスニーが見せたセーブだ。

母国ポーランドの名門レギア・ワルシャワユース出身のシュチェスニーは、2009年若くしてアーセナルへ移籍。大器として長年の活躍を期待されていたものの、大きな活躍ができず、ピッチ外での問題も重なり、2015年にローマへレンタル移籍で加入していた。新天地イタリアで安定した活躍を見せたシュチェスニーは2017年、イタリアの絶対王者ユベントスへ移籍。2018年からは同クラブのレジェンドである元イタリア代表GKジャンルイジ・ブッフォンの退団に伴い(現在はユベントスに復帰)、背番号「1」を継承している。
ユベントスでついに覚醒したシュチェスニーだが、2018年9月1日セリエA第3節のパルマ戦で背番号「1」に恥じない素晴らしいセーブを見せた。

前半にクロアチア代表FWマリオ・マンジュキッチのゴールで先制したユベントスだったが、コートジボワール代表FWジェルビーニョの得点で同点に。先制しながらも追いつかれるという嫌な展開の中で、パルマに再びチャンスが訪れる。左サイドを突破したジェルビーニョがユベントスボックス内に侵入すると、完全にフリーになっていたMFルカ・リゴーニへ横パス。完全にフリーの状態でボールを受けたリゴーニのシュートを素早く正面に回ったシュチェスニーがストップ。しかし、跳ね返りが再びリゴーニの下へ行きそうになると、驚異的な身体能力で起き上がったシュチェスニーが、詰めてきたリゴーニの手前、間一髪でボールを書き出し、チャンスを阻止した。

これでパルマの逆転の芽を摘んだユベントスは、後半の得点で勝ち越し、2-1で勝利を収めている。

ユーベ退団のキエッリーニ、堅守の“BBC”を振り返る「歴史の一部だった」

ボヌッチ、ミランでの“黒歴史”を回想…慎重に言葉を選ぶもミラニスタを傷つける?

ユベントスのイタリア代表DFレオナルド・ボヌッチが、“黒歴史”とも揶揄されるミランでの1年間を振り返っている。『フットボール・イタリア』が伝えている。 2010年夏にユベントスへ加入したボヌッチは、在籍期間にセリエA6連覇を経験するなど、近年の最盛期を過ごすビアンコネーロと共に充実した日々を過ごしていた。 しかし、当時の指揮官マッシミリアーノ・アッレグリ監督との確執、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝での厳しい敗戦など、幾つかのネガティブな要素が重なり、2017年夏にミランへの電撃移籍を果たした。 ただ、キャプテンマークを託されたミランでは、チームとしても個人としても思うようにいかず。一方、自身不在の古巣は悲願のCL制覇の夢をレアル・マドリーに打ち砕かれたものの、危なげなく国内2冠を達成していた。 そして、一度別れて“老貴婦人”の良さを改めて知ったボヌッチは、2018年夏に恥を忍んで古巣復帰を要請。自身とのトレードでミランへ旅立ったイタリア代表DFマッティア・カルダーラ(現アタランタ)という犠牲者を出しながらも、1年での帰還を果たした。 そのため、ボヌッチのミラノでの1年間は自身にとって“黒歴史”とも言える忘れたいものであるかに思われるが、ポジティブな33歳は「一人の男として成長できた」と、イタリア『ガゼッタ・デッロ・スポルト』のインタビューで振り返っている。 「個人的にもプロとしても厳しいシーズンだったよ」 「幾つかの意見の食い違い、とりわけチャンピオンズリーグ敗戦後に衝突があり、僕は最終的に誤った決断をしてしまった」 「だけど、自分のキャリアに大きな影響を与えたあの決断は、僕を一人の男として成長させたと言わざるを得ないよ」 「ミラノでの数カ月は僕に自問自答の機会を与えたんだ。そして、自分にとって最も大事なのは、家族のような存在であるユベントスだってことがわかったんだ」 「ミランでは何人かの素晴らしい人たちと出会うことができた。その筆頭がリーノ・ガットゥーゾだ。確かに厳しいシーズンだったけど、それが自分のキャリアにおいて役に立たなかったなんてことはないよ」 「最終的に、僕は自分の家に戻り、すごく幸せだからね」 ボヌッチなりに慎重に言葉を選んだうえでのコメントだが、ミランでの苦しい日々がユベントスの良さを改めて知るキッカケになったというニュアンスは、再びミラニスタの怒りを買いそうだ。 2020.06.07 17:45 Sun
