20日から開催されたカタールW杯のグループE初戦で、日本代表相手にまさかの敗戦を喫したドイツ。試合後には痛烈な非難を浴びることになったが、続くスペイン代表戦では先制を許しながらもFWニクラス・フュルクルクのゴールで追いつき、1-1のドローに終わった。
これにより、ドイツは12月1日に行われるグループE最終節のコスタリカ代表戦に勝利した場合、同時刻に開催される日本vsスペインの結果次第で決勝トーナメント進出が決定する状況となっている。
運命の最終節を控えるチームだが、マテウス氏は選手たちがスペイン戦で復調したと確信している模様だ。ドイツ『スカイ』で同氏はハンジ・フリック監督の采配を称え、コスタリカ戦は必ず勝利を掴めるはずだと期待した。

「すご」「経歴の凄さを感じる」トルコキャンプ中の広島にポドルスキが登場! スキッベ監督の意外な繋がりが分かる再会が話題「改めてすごい方が監督をしているんだな」

ドイツ代表史上初の解任…日本代表が引導を渡したフリック元監督は123年の歴史で初
