先月28日にフルアムからリバプールに加入したU-17イングランド代表MFハーヴェイ・エリオット(16)が、ピッチ外で早くも話題を集めているようだ。イギリス『テレグラフ』など複数メディアが伝えた。 昨シーズン、プレミアリーグ最年少出場記録を16歳30日に更新したことで話題となったエリオットは、今夏多くのビッグクラブの関心を集めた中でリバプール加入を選択した。 その注目の16歳はピッチ内で話題を集める前にピッチ外で話題を集めることになった。 事の発端は、同選手がスマートフォン向けのアプリ『Snapchat』で友人に向けて送った短い動画だった。 当時、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝のリバプールvsトッテナムを観戦していたと思われるエリオットは、トッテナムのエースでありイングランド代表でキャプテンを務めるFWハリー・ケインが画面に映った際に、「F***ing m**g」という侮辱的な言葉を叫んでいた。 そして、最近になってこの動画がSNS上に拡散し、多くの批判に晒されることになった。 この炎上状態を受けてエリオットは自身の公式SNSで謝罪を行うはめになった。 「インターネット上に拡散している僕の動画に関して不快感を与えたすべての方々に心より謝罪します」 「今回の動画に関してはプライベートの環境の中で友人と遊んでいる際に撮られたもので、特定の個人に向けて発したものではありません。しかし、僕の行動はあまりに未熟で無意味なものであったことを深く認識しています」 「動画の内容は僕という人間、どのような育ち方をしたのかというものを表したものではないことを強調したいと思います。ただ、今回の一件を本当に申し訳なく思っています」 今回の一件はあくまで若気の至りという感じだが、イングランド代表でキャプテンを務めるケインへの侮辱は今後の代表キャリアに少なからず影響を及ぼす可能性もある。また、今夏フルアムから世界的なクラブであるリバプールにステップアップしたことで、選手としての品格も養っていく必要があるのかもしれない。 2019.08.02 16:04 Fri

プレミアの選手じゃないのに…メッシがビッグ6得点数で上位

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー

「すっごく愛らしい」お姫様が3人、レヴァンドフスキの娘の誕生日会が「おとぎ話のよう」

ジエリンスキ、在住12年でイタリア国籍を取得
