「自分自身でやっているのか?」ネビル氏が代表選手のSNSに苦言「本物に聞こえない」

イングランド代表OBのギャリー・ネビル氏が、現在の代表メンバーたちのSNS事情に苦言を呈した。

現代のサッカー選手の多くが自身で発信しているものに加え、SNS用のスタッフを雇い、アカウントを管理しているのは周知の事実だ。

直近では、トッテナムの元イングランド代表GKジョー・ハートが、ヨーロッパリーグのラウンド16でディナモ・ザグレブに大逆転負けを喫したにも関わらず、「Job done(仕事は完了した)」と投稿したことで炎上した。

ハートはこの件について、自身のSNSを担当する者が3-0でトッテナムが勝利したと勘違いしていたと語り、謝罪していた。

また、イングランド代表は28日に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ欧州予選グループI第2節のアルバニア代表戦で2-0の勝利を収めたが、直後のイングランド代表メンバーのSNSには酷似したメッセージが並んでいた。

MFメイソン・マウントがツイッターで「仕事は完了した。水曜日が楽しみだ!」と投稿すると、MFジェシー・リンガードも「仕事は完了した。水曜日にまた行く!」と続いた。

さらに、DFハリー・マグワイアが「2戦2勝。水曜日にフォーカスしていく」と投稿すると、MFフィル・フォーデンも「2戦2勝!!水曜日が待ち遠しい!!」と似たようなメッセージを発信している。

こうした現状を受け、ネビル氏は自身のツイッターで選手たちのSNSの使い方を嘆いた。

「昨晩、イングランドの選手たちのツイートを読んだ。誰か一人でも自分自身で投稿したのか? それらは本物に聞こえない。ファンやメディアとの個人的なつながりを管理していないのは本当に残念だ」

選手たちがSNS用のスタッフを雇うことは問題ないが、ネビル氏の指摘通り、その全てが本人の意思ではないとなると、少し悲しいところだ。

笑顔になるブーイングも…レジェンド大集結! 有観客でチャリティマッチが復活

2025年最初のFIFAランク、大きく変動も日本は15位をキープ! 2位にスペイン、6位にオランダが浮上【FIFAランキング】
