「偉大だったわ!」ラストW杯になったブラジル代表DFチアゴ・シウバ、妻が労いの言葉を綴る「悲しかったと言う必要はないわ」

ブラジル代表DFチアゴ・シウバの妻であるイザベル・シウバさんが、戦いを終えた夫への気持ちを綴った。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)にブラジル代表の一員として臨んだチアゴ・シウバ。キャプテンとしてチームを牽引し、史上最多6度目の優勝を目指して今大会に臨んだ。

2010年の南アフリカW杯で初めてW杯メンバーに入るも、出番はなし。しかし、自国開催の2014年はキャプテンとして6試合に出場。ドイツ代表に7失点と惨敗した試合は、出場停止で欠場し、涙を飲んだ。

2018年も5試合に出場すると、今大会も38際で迎えたが4試合に出場し、キャプテンとして活躍。しかし、準々決勝のクロアチア代表戦ではPK戦の末に敗れ、大会から去ることとなった。

失意にくれるブラジル代表。妻のイザベルさんも、傷が癒えてからの投稿を考えたとのことだが、その日が来ないことがわかり、インスタグラムを更新。夫にとっての最後のW杯だったとし、労いの言葉を送った。

「大変だった、辛かった、悲しかったと言う必要はないわ。誰もが知っているから。現実的に“慣れた”と感じてからこの投稿をしようと思ったけど、日が経つにつれて、その日は来ないものだと実感しているわ」

「このカップは特別なものになるといつも言っていた。理由はいくつかある。チアゴが選手としてプレーする最後のW杯だったから。彼はキャプテンとして、カップを掲げられるから。20年ぶりに6度目の優勝になるから。理由は色々あるわ」

「残念ながら、チャンピオンの叫びはまだノドの奥に残っている。私たちの子供たちや将来の選手たち、あるいはチアゴが監督になれば(彼が望めば)、違ったものになるでしょう。でも、それに関わらず、重要なことになるのは分かっていたわ」

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
