南米サッカー連盟(CONMEBOL)が11日のコパ・アメリカ2024準決勝で起きた一件を調査するようだ。イギリス『The Athletic』が報じた。
アルゼンチン代表が待つ決勝行きの切符をかけ、11日の準決勝で激突したウルグアイ代表とコロンビア代表。今大会を通じて存在感を放つハメス・ロドリゲスのアシストから前半に均衡を破ったコロンビアがハーフタイム目前に退場者を出しながらも最後まで粘り、23年ぶりの決勝進出を決めた。
そんな試合は終わった後にピッチ上で両軍の選手がもみ合いになると、スタンドのサポーター同士も衝突する事態に。一部では殴り合いの乱闘に発展し、その近くにいた家族の身を案じたダルウィン・ヌニェスをはじめ、数選手もコロンビア側サポーターとの小競り合いに加わり、混乱を極めた。
後味の悪さを残した試合となるなか、CONMEBOLもこの事態に対する声明を発表。「試合終了時に発生した暴力行為における一連の経緯と関係者の責任を把握するため、調査を開始した」とした上で、容認できない光景と切り捨てた。
「コパ・アメリカ決勝を迎えるにあたり、選手とスタジアムのファンが入り乱れ、世界中の何億もの人が見守るこの世界的なサッカーの祭典に泥を塗るような行為は絶対に許されないことを再認識し、警告する」
