トッテナムのイングランド代表MFジェームズ・マディソンは、イングランド代表復帰を希望していると明かした。

今シーズン、公式戦33試合10ゴール7アシストの成績を残すマディソン。残念ながらトッテナムはプレミアリーグで12位と不振に陥っている最中ではあるが、マディソン自身はリーグ戦でも24試合9ゴール5アシストと上々の数字だ。

そんなマディソンが熱望しているのは、イングランド代表への復帰。昨年開催されたユーロ2024ではメンバーから落選となっており、以降は代表戦での出場がない。
一方で、イングランド代表は今年からトーマス・トゥヘル監督が新たに就任。これにより、序列がリセットされる可能性もあり、3月のインターナショナルマッチウィークに向けた代表発表が注目されている。

イギリス『イブニング・スタンダード』によると、マディソンはすでにトゥヘル監督と話し合いの場を設けたとのこと。その上で、現在の成績を考えれば代表へ行く資格はあると自信を示している。
「彼(トゥヘル監督)とは連絡を取っているよ。もちろん、彼はFAの作ったおそらくかなり大きな選手リストにいるだろう、選出される可能性がある人間に連絡を取っていたと思うけどね」

「僕も代表の一部になりたいと切望しているよ。調子は良いと思うし、残している数字もかなり良い。僕より得点やアシストで上回る中盤はそう多くないだろう。特に今は調子も良くて感覚も鋭く、ほとんどの試合に影響を与えることができるとわかっている」

「今はそれを続けることだけさ。いつも言っているように、トッテナムでレベルを維持しながらプレーできれば、残りは自然にうまくいくと思う。僕は本当に強い自信を持っているしね」

「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 イングランド代表が新ユニフォームを発表、赤ではなくなったアウェイは賛否分かれる「初めてじゃないか?」「そのチョイスはなしだ」

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー
