リバプールは4日、イングランド人FWジェイデン・ダンズ(19)との長期契約を発表した。
契約期間こそ明かされていないが、アカデミー出身者と長期契約。メディカルチェックで背中の負傷が判明した中、リバプールでリハビリを行った後、チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のサンダーランドにレンタル移籍することとなる。
ダンズは2024年2月にユルゲン・クロップ前監督の下でファーストチームデビュー。U-21チームに所属しながらも、これまで公式戦9試合で3ゴールを記録していた。
今シーズンもアルネ・スロット監督の下で、プレミアリーグ、FAカップ、EFLカップ、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でそれぞれ1試合ずつ出場。FAカップではゴールも記録していた。
ダンズはサンダーランドへの武者修行にコメントしている。
「僕はリサーチをしたが、チームは素晴らしく、これが正しいステップだと感じている。すぐに移籍できないのは残念だが、クラブに加入できたことを誇りに思っている。この期間中は、復帰して自分の役割を果たせるように一生懸命努力する」
