ウェストハムは8日、自動車事故に遭ったジャマイカ代表FWマイケル・アントニオに関する最新の声明を発表した。
アントニオは7日、エセックス地域でフェラーリを運転中に単独の部物損事故を起こしたとみられる。
その際、クラブは「マイケルは意識があり、意思疎通ができており、現在はロンドン中心部の病院で厳重な監視下にあります」と容態が安定していることを明かしていた。
さらに、翌8日に発表した最新の声明では同選手が手術を受けたことを報告している。
「ウェストハム・ユナイテッドは、土曜日(7日)午後の交通事故により、マイケル・アントニオが下肢骨折の手術を受けたことを発表します」

ウェストハムは3日、チャンピオンズシップ(イングランド2部)のミルウォールからイングランド人GKデイビッド・マーティン(33)をフリートランスファーで獲得したことを発表した。7月1日からの正式加入となる同選手は2021年6月30日までの2年契約にサインしている。 1978年から1996年まで活躍し、クラブ歴代5位の公式戦596試合に出場した元イングランド代表DFのアルヴィン・マーティン氏(60)を父親に持つマーティン。 トッテナムのユースチームでキャリアをスタートしたマーティンは、2003年にウインブルドンでプロキャリアをスタート。その後、2006年にはリバプールにステップアップを図ったが、同クラブではトップチームでの出場機会はなく、下部カテゴリーのクラブへのレンタルを繰り返していた。 その後、2010年にはリバプールから当時リーグ1(イングランド3部)のミルトン・キーンズ・ドンズ(MKドンズ)に完全移籍。同クラブで7シーズンに渡って正GKを務め、2017年にミルウォールに移籍。昨シーズンはリーグ戦10試合に出場していた。 なお、ポーランド代表GKウカシュ・ファビアンスキが正GKを務めるウェストハムは、先月にエスパニョールのスペイン人GKロベルト・ヒメネス(33)を獲得しており、マーティンは第3GKを務めることになる。 2019.06.03 18:41 Mon

チェルシー戦でプレミア初出場&初勝利を果たした33歳ハマーズGK、試合後に涙…
ウェストハムに所属するイングランド人GKデイビッド・マーティンが33歳でプレミアリーグ初出場を果たした。 ウェストハムは11月30日のプレミアリーグ第14節でチェルシーと対戦した。その試合でゴールマウスを守ったのは、GKロベルト・ヒメネスではなく、この試合がプレミア初出場となるマーティンだった。 トッテナムの下部組織にも在籍していた同選手は、2006年から4年間はリバプールにも在籍していたのだが、下位リーグクラブへのレンタル移籍の連続で、トップチームでの出場経験は一度もなかった。それまでレスター・シティやダービー・カウンティ、リーズ・ユナイテッドなどを転々とし、2010年から7年間過ごしたMKドンズでは公式戦334試合に出場したが、そのほとんどがイングランド3部にあたるリーグ・ワンだった。 そのため、プレミアリーグはおろか2部のチャンピオンシップでさえも50試合に満たない出場歴だったマーティンは、今夏にミルウォールからユース時代を過ごしたウェストハムに移籍。ウェストハムは、父である元イングランド代表DFのアルヴィン・マーティン氏が1976年から1996年まで過ごしたクラブでもあった。 第3GKとしての移籍だったため出番は回ってこないものと見られていたが、9月末に正GKを務めていたウカシュ・ファビアンスキの股関節のケガによる長期離脱を受け、繰り上げてベンチに座るようになった。そして、成績の悪かった第2GKのロベルトに代わり、父も見守る今回のチェルシー戦で始めてプレミアの舞台に立った。 試合は再三チェルシーに攻め込まれながらも、マーティンら守備陣が奮闘し何とか無失点に抑えると、後半立ち上がりにDFアーロン・クレスウェルが値千金のゴールを決めて0-1で勝利を収めた。アウェイでのチェルシー戦の勝利は実に17年振りのことだという。 試合終了のホイッスルが鳴り響いた直後、マーティンの目には涙が浮かんでいた。試合後のイギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』のインタビューでこのように語った。 「父を見つけた時、僕たちは2人して泣いていたよ。だからほとんど言葉は交わさなかった。だけど、父が21年過ごしたこのクラブで僕が(プレミア)デビューし、クリーンシートで仲間たちの勝利に貢献できた。これ以上のことはない。本当に素晴らしいよ」 だが、嬉しいはずのプレミアリーグデビューに、試合前は少しナーバスになっていたようだ。試合後にこのようにも話している。 「信じられないよ。僕は33歳で妥当なキャリアを送ってきた。かなりの試合数もこなした。だけどこの試合への準備はまだ出来ていなかった」 「ここ2日間、食事が喉を通らなくなっていたんだ。クレス(クレスウェル)は笑っていたよ。運んできたおぼんが手つかずで全く食べ終わらない僕を見てね」 2019.12.01 06:06 Sun
