そんなミュラーは15日、自身のYouTubeチャンネルにて「代表チームでの将来についての決断」と題した動画を投稿。自身の代表キャリアを振り返ると同時に、「14年以上前、初めて国際試合に出場させてもらった時は、こんなこと夢にも思わなかった。131試合に出場し、45ゴールを挙げたドイツの鷲に、今日別れを告げる」と述べ、2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)を目指すチームを、今度は一ファンとして観客席から応援する意向を示した。
2010年3月に代表デビューを飾ったミュラーは、通算131試合45ゴール41アシストを記録。ローター・マテウス氏の150試合、ミロスラフ・クローゼ氏の137試合に次ぐ歴代3位の出場試合数を誇る。
初出場の2010年W杯では得点王とベストヤングプレーヤー賞に輝き、2014年W杯では優勝に貢献。2018年W杯後には代表から離れる時期もあったが、ユーロ2020には参加し、共に計4度のW杯とユーロを経験している。

「何をしたらこうなる」「俺のよりボロボロだ」中身が見えるほどバキバキになったミュラーのiPhoneが話題、ゴレツカも「しばらく使えないだろう」

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

ノイアーが38歳でドイツ代表引退…“GK大国”においてGK歴代最多出場
