アーセナルのイングランド代表MFデクラン・ライスが、元同僚の酷評・恨みを受け流した。イギリス『90min』が伝えている。

アイルランド系のイングランド代表戦士であるライス。

アイルランドのA代表で3試合戦ってからイングランドへ移った経緯があり、今なお緊張が消えていない両国関係(イギリス)もあって、当時ライスにはアイルランド側から批判のみならず殺害予告も寄せられた。

先日、アイルランド代表時代の同僚であるジェームズ・マクリーン(35)が、ユーロ2024へ参戦中のライスについて「過大評価」「ワールドクラスではない」などと酷評。

ライスは、アイルランド国家への忠誠心によりイギリス側から殺害予告を受けたこともあるマクリーンの“酷評に隠された恨み”を気に留めていない。

「僕はジェームズと(アイルランド代表で)3試合一緒にプレーして、とてもうまくやっていたんだ。ここに座って彼の悪口を言うつもりはないよ」

「彼を一流の選手だと思っているよ。アイルランドを離れてイングランドに来た時、彼が明らかに僕に不満を抱いているって話をいくつか耳にしたし、数年前にもコメントしていたはずだ」

「それが現実だよ。ここで彼について何か言うつもりはない。彼にも意見を言う権利があり、僕への恨みをコメントされても、気にしないようにしているんだ」

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu
