シュツットガルトは30日、ベンフィカのポルトガル人FWジウ・ディアス(26)を完全移籍で獲得することを発表した。

契約期間は2025年6月30日までの2年半で、背番号は「31」をつける。

ジウ・ディアスは、モナコでプロキャリアをスタート。ヴァルジム、リオ・アヴェ、フィオレンティーナ、ノッティンガム・フォレスト、オリンピアコス、グラナダ、ファマリカンと多くのクラブをレンタル移籍で渡り歩いた。

2021年7月にベンフィカに完全移籍。ベンフィカでは公式戦20試合に出場し1ゴール2アシストを記録。しかし、今季はリーグ戦やチャンピオンズリーグでの出番はなく、公式戦2試合の出場に終わっていた。

左ウイングが主戦場のジウ・ディアスは、負傷中のFWチアゴ・トマスの代役としての活躍が期待される。

「とても悲しかった」W杯落選を語る原口元気、シュツットガルト移籍や遠藤&伊藤との関係、残留争いを語る「夢はいつかCLで」
