UFC世界ヘビー級王者のフランシス・ガヌーがカメルーンサッカー連盟(FECAFOOT)を訪問した。

カメルーン人史上初UFC王者で、国民的英雄としても知られるガヌー。20代の頃にパリに移住したガヌーは、フランス代表FWキリアン・ムバッペがパリ・サンジェルマンと契約延長した際に喜びをツイートするなど、サッカー通でもある。

そのガヌーが生まれ故郷のカメルーンサッカー連盟を訪問。会長を務めるサミュエル・エトー氏と対面した。

一緒にカメルーン代表のユニフォームを掲げる2人だが、驚くべくはそのサイズ。エトー氏も180cmと小さいわけではないのだが、隣に並ぶガヌーとは一回りも二回りも違うサイズ感だ。ヘビー級のガヌーは、193cmで120㎏弱の肉体。Tシャツの上からでもその大きさは一目で分かる。

これからガヌーはサッカー界との関わりを増やしていくのだろうか。

元カメルーン代表MFエムバミ氏が40歳で急逝…シドニー五輪で金メダルに貢献

かつてパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)やマルセイユで活躍した元カメルーン代表MFモデスト・エムバミ氏(40)が7日に心臓発作で逝去した。カメルーンのヤウンデで生まれ育ったエムバミ氏は、2000年にフランスのスダン・アルデンヌでヨーロッパでのキャリアをスタート。以降はPSGやマルセイユ、スペインのアルメリア、中国の大連阿爾濱、長春亜泰、サウジアラビアのアル・イテハド、コロンビアのミジョナリオスを渡り歩き、2015年に現在も居住していたル・アーヴルで現役を引退した。PSG時代には2度のクープ・ドゥ・フランス優勝にも貢献していた。また、シドニー・オリンピックで同国の金メダル獲得に貢献すると、以降はカメルーンのA代表に定着し、通算37試合に出場。2003年のコンフェデレーションズカップ準優勝にも貢献した。シドニー五輪やカメルーン代表で長らく共闘し、現在はカメルーンサッカー連盟で会長を務めるサミュエル・エトー氏は、自身のインスタグラムを通じて「君はあまりにも早く去った…」と、盟友の早過ぎる死に悲痛な思いを綴っている。 2023.01.08 22:28 Sun

年齢詐称問題のU-17カメルーン代表、新たに11名が検査で不合格となり合計31名に
