ブレントフォードは6日、メジャーリーグサッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミからイングランド人MFロメオ・ベッカム(20)のレンタル加入を発表した。加入期間は今季終了までとなる。
ロメオ・ベッカムはかつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドや、イングランド代表で活躍したデイビッド・ベッカム氏の次男。アーセナルのアカデミーに所属後、フットボールから遠ざかる時期があったが、現在は父が共同オーナーを務めるインテル・マイアミのリザーブチームでプレーしている。
ブレントフォードによると、ロメオ・ベッカムはトップチームの戦力に数えられたわけでなく、Bチームに所属する見通し。アメリカのシーズンが終わってから、Bチームのトレーニングに参加していたとのことで、今季いっぱいもローンプレーヤーとしてともに過ごす運びになったようだ。
Bチームを率いるニール・マクファーレン監督は「ロメオは信じられないほどよくやっている。このチームの文化に溶け込み、大きな存在になっているよ」とコメント。ロメオ・ベッカムも「ここにいられるのを誇りに思うし、とても幸せだ」などと喜びの心境を明かしている。

メッシ長男もインテル・マイアミの一員に! U-12入団をクラブが発表

ブレントフォードのオーナーがスペイン3部メリダを買収
ブレントフォードのオーナーである『ベスト・インテンションズ・アナリティクス(BIA)』が、スペイン3部のメリダを買収した。 BIAはフットボールクラブへの投資を目的として2025年に設立されたイギリスの持ち株会社であり、BIAの株式の100%はブレントフォードのオーナーであるマシュー・ベンハム氏が管理している。 一方、メリダは前身クラブであるクルブ・ポリデポルティボ・メリダの解散後に2013年に設立され、現在はプリメーラ・フェデラシオン(スペイン3部)で5位につけている。 メリダの新会長に就任予定のクリフ・クラウン氏は今回の買収に際して以下のコメントを残している。 「私たちはクラブの歴史とアイデンティティを理解しており、それを尊重することは私たちにとって非常に重要です」 「メリダでのプロジェクトは、これまで行われてきた素晴らしい取り組みの基盤を維持しながら、現状のまま継続されます」 「このクラブへのコミットメントを決定したもうひとつの重要な要素は、健全な財務基盤に基づいて運営されているという事実でした」 なお、ブレントフォードは、ベンハム氏がアンダース・ホルヒ・ポヴルセン氏に売却するまで、2014年から2023年までデンマークのFCミッティランと共にマルチ・クラブ・オーナーシップ(MCO)を取っていた。 2025.04.16 07:00 Wed
