ワールドカップ(W杯)の優勝経験者からも日本代表へメッセージが届いた。日本は5日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のラウンド16で、史上初のベスト8進出を目指してクロアチア代表と対戦した。
前回大会準優勝のクロアチアを相手に前田大然のゴールで先制した日本だったが、イバン・ペリシッチのヘディングで追い付かれると、90分、延長戦でも決着はつかず。PK戦では相手GKに3本をストップされ、8強入りはならなかった。
目標としていた決勝トーナメントでの勝利をつかむことはできなかったが、グループステージではドイツ代表やスペイン代表を逆転で下し、世界を震撼させた日本。その姿は日本のみならず、世界中の人々の心を揺さぶった。
戦いを終えた日本代表へは多くのメッセージが送られているが、元なでしこジャパンのFW丸山桂里奈さんからも今後へ向けて温かい声が届いている。

日本代表、南野拓実がケガで離脱…代替選手は決定次第発表
