スイス代表MFグラニト・ジャカは、29日に行われるカタールW杯グループG第2戦のブラジル代表戦へ向けて大会前から闘志を燃やしていたようだ。

スイス代表のキャプテンとしてカタールW杯に参戦中のジャカ。24日に行われた初戦のカメルーン代表戦ではフル出場し、1-0の勝利に貢献している。

この結果、第2戦のブラジル代表戦で勝利すれば決勝トーナメント進出が決まる可能性も。大会前のイギリス『サン』のインタビューでは、所属するアーセナルの同僚であるブラジル代表2選手、ガブリエウ・ジェズスとガブリエウ・マルティネッリの名前を挙げ、この一戦への闘志を燃やしていた。
「(2人とは)普段は冗談を言い合う仲さ。W杯の対戦相手にチームメイトがいるのは本当に素晴らしいこと。だけど、お互いにプロフェッショナルなわけだから、真剣に90分間向き合わないといけないね」

「2人には『もしスイスのGKからゴールを奪おうものなら、僕が君たちを粉砕する』と宣言したよ(笑) お互いに自分の国のために戦い、勝ちたいと強く願っている」
冗談まじりのやりとりを明かした一方、初戦のカメルーン以上に警戒すべき相手だとの認識も失っていないようだ。

「カメルーンよりブラジルの方を注意すべきなのは明白だ。ブラジル相手にボールロストすることは失点に直結し、大きな代償を払うこととなる。彼らはとてつもないクオリティを持つ集団だからね」

「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 インテル守護神ゾマーがスイス代表で定位置失う? ベラルーシ戦2失点が母国で議論に「コベルを正GKに」

インテルのスイス代表GKヤン・ゾマーが、母国ファン・メディアからの批判に晒されている。イタリア『カルチョメルカート』が伝えている。 今シーズンからインテルのゴールマウスを守るゾマー。昨季まで長らくブンデスリーガで活躍した守護神は身長183cmとGKとしては背は高くないものの、優れた反射神経やセービングなど能力に疑いの余地がなく、「GKはサイズが全てではない」を身をもって証明してきた34歳だ。 スイス代表ではかれこれ10年近く正GKの座を守っており、15日に行われたユーロ2024予選グループI第7節のベラルーシ代表戦で通算85キャップ目。しかし、3-3のドローに終わったこの一戦は1失点目、2失点目のゾマーの対応について、スイス国内で議論が拡大しているという。 スイスが先制して迎えた61分、ベラルーシのクロスにゴール前へフリーで飛び込まれて1失点目。スイスのセンターバック2枚がマークに付けなかったことが失点の大前提としてあるものの、ゾマーはクロスに飛び出しを躊躇している間に頭で合わされ、反応することができなかった。 69分にはベラルーシの左CKからヘディングシュートを放たれると、ゾマーの左手をかすめてネットへ吸い込まれ2失点目。その後さらに1点を追加されたスイスだが、なんとか終盤に2点を取り返し、ホームで3-3のドローに持ち込んだ。 この試合を受け、スイスメディアは「ドルトムント所属のGKグレゴール・コベル(25)を正GKに」という論調を展開。ゾマーの12月で35歳という年齢、1失点目は自信のなさが飛び出しの躊躇を招いた、2失点目は183cmという身長が影響した、といった批判が出ているとのことだ。 それでもスイスを率いるムラト・ヤキン監督はチーム最年長のベテランを擁護。「GKをチェンジ? ゾマーはスイスとインテルでリーダーとなっている男だ。彼は皆に自信と安心感を与えている。この点について私は疑念のかけらもない」 「ポジション争いは今から始めることではない。以前からゾマーも競争を感じているはずだ。これまでのところ良い試合をしてくれているよ。今後も全ての試合でベストを尽くしてくれると確信している」 ベラルーシ戦は相手が格下であるだけでなく、ホームゲームであり、勝てばユーロ本大会行きがグッと近づく一戦だったためか、大きな批判に晒されることとなったゾマー。だが、そこはベテラン。すぐに切り替えて前を向いていることだろう。 2023.10.18 16:15 Wed
