7日にチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループA開幕節でナポリと敵地で対戦し、1-4で敗れたリバプール。プレミアリーグでは6試合2勝3分け1敗と波に乗れていないなか、CLでも苦しいスタートとなった。

中でも批判を受けているのがリバプールのイングランド代表DFトレント・アレクサンダー=アーノルドの守備対応だ。

1点を先制され、なおもナポリに攻め立てられていた31分、ジョー・ゴメスがボールを奪われると、ボックス内への侵入を許し、最後はアンドレ=フランク・ザンボ・アンギサにゴールを決められた。

この場面、アレクサンダー=アーノルドの切り替えが悪く、味方がボールを奪われた後もゆっくりと帰陣。ボックス内でもほぼ棒立ちの状態だった。

さらにナポリの3点目のシーンでもクヴィチャ・クワラツヘリアに簡単に突破を許し、その後も取り返そうという気迫は見られなかった。

最終ライン全体の綻びも見られたナポリ戦だが、アレクサンダー=アーノルドには「棒立ちじゃないか」、「守備軽すぎる」、「無気力プレーの連発」、「もう見たくない」、「追いかけろよ」といった声が多数。抜かれた後の対応のまずさもあり、批判の声が寄せられている。

「謝罪を無視された」リシャルリソンがチアゴに恨み節
