チェルシーに所属するフランス代表MFエンゴロ・カンテの誕生日をレ・ブルー(フランス代表の愛称)のチームメイトたちが祝った。

3月のインターナショナルマッチウィークでコートジボワール代表と南アフリカ代表との国際親善試合に臨んだフランス。29日の南アフリカ戦では相手が退場者を出したこともあり、5-0の大勝を飾った。

その29日はカンテの31歳のバースデー。食堂に選手たちが集まると、サプライズでカンテのバースデーケーキが登場した。チームメイトたちからの祝福の歌にカンテは微笑み。ややどうしていいか分からないような困った表情を見せつつ、感謝を述べた。

普段と変わらぬ謙虚な反応を見せたカンテにはファンも反応。「彼の笑顔を守り続けたい」、「彼が愛される理由だ」、「可愛すぎる」、「愛されてるなあ」と好意的な声を寄せている。

今季はケガや病気もあったが、クラブでも代表でも欠かせぬ存在となっているカンテ。31歳の1年も変わらぬ輝きを見せられるだろうか。

「フランス代表を引退しようとした」ムバッペが告白「猿呼ばわりされて…」

パリ・サンジェルマンのFWキリアン・ムバッペが、フランス代表からの引退を考えていたことを明かした。カタール・ワールドカップの開幕が間近に迫り、先日発表されたフランス代表のメンバーに選ばれたムバッペ。だが、最近の『Sports Illustrated』のインタビューで語ったところでは、フランス代表を引退することを考えていた時期もあったようだ。曰く、きっかけは昨夏のユーロ2020。ラウンド16でスイス代表と対戦した際、PK戦でシュートを止められ敗戦の原因のひとつとなってしまったムバッペには、サポーターから罵詈雑言を浴びせられた。SNS上では過度な侮辱的ツイートをした19歳の青年が後に有罪判決を受け、罰金を課せられるまでに。ムバッペはその後、フランスサッカー協会(FFF)のル・グラエ会長と話し合いの場を持ったというが、人種差別について取り合ってくれず、サポートは一切なかったという。同会長に関しては、過去に「黒人プレーヤーがゴールを決めると、スタジアム全体が沸き立つ。フットボール界に人種差別はほとんどない」などの発言をしており、横行する人種差別に対して対岸の火事を装い、多くの非難を浴び続けている。そのため、フランス代表のために戦う意欲を失いかけたというムバッペ。しかし、周囲と話し合った結果、「諦めることが正しいメッセージではないと判断した」と、引退を考え直したという。「僕はみんなのお手本だと思う。これが新しいフランスだ。だから代表を諦めなかった。これは若い世代への『僕たちは強いんだぞ』というメッセージだ」 2022.11.11 20:15 Fri
