なでしこジャパンのDF宝田沙織と元なでしこジャパンのFW横山久美が所属するワシントン・スピリットが、ナショナル・ウーマンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)の女王に輝いた。20日にシカゴ・レッド・スターズとのファイナルが行われた中、宝田と横山は揃ってベンチスタートとなった。
試合はシカゴ・レッド・スターズが前半アディショナルタイムに先制。粘るワシントン・スピリットは、67分に同点に追いつくと試合は延長戦へ突入する。
すると97分にワシントン・スピリットが逆転ゴールを奪い、そのまま逃げ切り2-1で勝利。女王に輝いた。
なお、宝田は116分から途中出場。横山は出場機会がなかった。

池田監督のサッカーをよく知るDF宝田沙織、FWからDFに変わるも「やり方が難しいということはない」
24日、翌日にアイスランド女子代表戦を控えたなでしこジャパンのDF宝田沙織(ワシントン・スピリット)がオンラインのメディア取材に応じた。 10月に池田太監督が就任し、新体制が発足したなでしこジャパン。10月には国内組だけで合宿を行い、今回のオランダ遠征では海外組5名が加わって、初陣を迎える。 遠征地のオランダではトレーニングを2日しか行えない状況。その中で、海外組として初めて合流した宝田は「池田監督になって初めての国際大会という中で、新メンバー、色々な選手とやれるので、まずはたくさんの人とコミュニケーションを取りながら1試合1試合を良いものにしていきたいと思います」と、新たなチームとしてしっかりとコミュニケーションを取りたいとした。 元々はFWでプレーし、現在はCBでプレーする宝田。今回もDFとしてプレーすることになるが「チームでも色々なポジションをやらせてもらっているので、代表でもどこで出ても自分らしくプレーできればと思っています」とコメント。「好きなポジションもありますけど、今はどこで出ても恐れずにやっていきたいと思っています」と、求められる場所でのプレーも問題ないとした。 ディフェンダーとしての経験も積んできている宝田は「去年からディフェンスをし出すことが多くなって、そこらへんからディフェンスへの意識だったり、やり方を学んできているので、そこは良い感じで切り替えられていると思います」と、自覚も徐々に出てきているようだ。 その宝田だが、池田監督が指揮した2018年のU-20女子ワールドカップで優勝したメンバーの1人。当時との監督の変化については「U-20の時も監督がすごくパワフルで元気というイメージが強かったですが、今も変わらず練習でも監督の熱を感じてあたらめて懐かしいなという気持ちです」と語り、あまり変わっていないと語った。 一方で自身は当時はFWとしてゴールを量産していた中、現在はCBとなっている。「U-20の時と言っていたこととはあまり変わっていないで、自分のポジションが変わっただけなので、やり方が難しいということはないです」と語り、コンセプト自体は変わらないため、難しさは感じていないようだ。 その池田監督が求めるサッカーで重要なことについては「全体的にアグレッシブで、全員サッカー、全員攻撃、球際でも気持ちで負けないということはチームとしてやっていることだと思います」と、アグレッシブさは攻守にわたって欠かせないようだ。 改めて東京オリンピックについて振り返った宝田は「出場時間がなかなかなくて、そういうところではもっとオリンピック後にはやっていかないという思いが強くなったのと、世界は進んでいて、技術もそうですし、フィジカル面でも成長しないとワールドカップで優勝するのは無理かなと思ったので、オリンピック後はレベルアップしなければいけないなと思いました」と、世界との差を感じた大会だったという。 この先目指す上で必要なことについては「まずはそこに選ばれるようにチームとしても、普段の練習も試合も結果を求めていかないといけないのと、優勝するためにはということを常に考えて行動することが大事です」とコメント。「フィジカル面だったり、海外に負けないような取り組みをしていきたいと思います」と、アメリカの地でさらに磨いていくことが大事だとした。 2021.11.24 23:55 Wed

将来が嘱望された女子大生GKが22歳で他界…スタンフォード大学の寮で見つかる

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

癌でもサッカーを続ける少年へ…プリシッチが“芋虫”パフォーマンスの理由を打ち明ける
