カナダが生んだスターが、サッカー界の新星と対面した。

カナダ代表は13日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)北中米カリブ海予選でパナマ代表とホームで対戦。バイエルンに所属するカナダ代表DFアルフォンソ・デイビスの個人技でのゴールもあり、4-1の大勝を収め、グループ3位に浮上した。

パナマ戦後、カナダのジョン・ハーマン監督は「デイビスが彼(ドレイク)からメッセージを受け取ったようだ。選手たちに会いたがっていた」と明かしていたが、スターの願いが早くも叶った。

トロント出身のドレイクは、試合翌日にレストランでカナダ代表選手たちと対面。お目当てだったA・デイビスのユニフォームをプレゼントされ、何人かの選手たちと記念撮影を行った。

NBAのトロント・ラプターズの熱狂的なファンでもあるドレイクだが、今後はサッカーにも注目してくれそうだ。
