東京オリンピック優勝候補の一角に目されるU-24スペイン代表だが、主力2選手に今大会終了の恐れが浮上している。
その2選手とはDFオスカル・ミンゲサとオーバーエイジのひとりとして参戦のMFダニ・セバージョスだ。両選手ともに22日に札幌ドームで行われたグループC第1節のU-24エジプト代表戦に先発したが、それぞれ途中交代を強いられた。
ミンゲサは試合開始から6分が経過したところで相手選手と交錯すると、そこからのプレー続行を経て、22分にハムストリングを痛めた様子でピッチを後に。セバージョスは41分頃に足首を痛め、前半アディショナルタイムに退いた。
そうした背景もあり、スペインの初戦は0-0のドロー。25日に予定する次節のU-24オーストラリア代表戦も勝てなければ、突破が厳しくなるが、スペイン『マルカ』は両選手ともに次戦欠場の可能性が高く、大会終了の恐れもあると主張した。
なお、ルイス・デ・ラ・フエンテ監督は試合後、「待ってみないとだが、見た感じが良くない。重傷の可能性もあり、非常に気がかりだ」と語っている。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「僕はスペイン人」18歳ハイセンが母国オランダに決別…2月にスペイン国籍取得でU-21代表デビュー
