スペイン代表史上最年少でユーロデビューを果たしたバルセロナMFペドリが、引き分けに終わったスウェーデン戦を振り返った。

スペインは14日、ユーロ2020のグループE初戦でスウェーデンと対戦。優勝候補の一角と目される中、前半から決定機を生み出したものの、相手GKの度重なるファインセーブに苦しみ0-0の引き分けとなった。ドロー発進となったスペインにおいて、先発フル出場で存在感を示したペドリ。この試合がユーロデビューとなり、18歳201日という同国史上最年少記録を樹立した。これまでの記録は、1980年大会でデビューしたミゲル・テンディージョ氏の19歳132日だったが、それを約10カ月更新する好記録が生まれることになった。
しかし、ペドリは残念な結果になったと振り返っている。

「素晴らしい大会でデビューできたことに満足しているよ。どんな子供にとっても夢だからね。でも、引き分けてしまったことは悲しいよ。何度もチャンスを作ったにもかかわらず、肝心のゴールを決めることができなかった。間違いを修正するために試合を見返そうと思うよ」
ペドリはまた、この試合の前半に決定機を逃していたFWアルバロ・モラタを労った。同選手は38分に、DFジョルディ・アルバのパスをゴール前で受けたが、GKと一対一の場面でシュートを右に外してしまっていた。

「誰にだってミスはある。彼は人間だ。おかしいことじゃない。アルバロ・モラタは常に多くの仕事をこなしているんだ。だからサポーターも僕たちを信頼してほしい。僕たちは素晴らしいチームであり、これからも前進していく」

「メルヘンユニでも弱くはないのよね」そんな風に私が頷いていたのは火曜日、またTVで流し見していたU21ユーロ予選でスペインがハンガリーにロベルト・ナバロ(マジョルカ)のゴールで0-1と勝利。10試合中7試合目にして、早くも2025年の本大会の切符を掴むのを見た時のことでした。いやあ、確かにこの夏のパリ五輪を制したU23代表も何故か、フランスの地では第2ユニのレモンイエローを着用してプレーする試合が多かったんですけどね。金メダリストであるクバルシ(バルサ)やサム(アトレティコからポルトに移籍、昨季はアラベスでプレー)、トゥリテンテス(レアル・ソシエダ)、イトゥルベ(アトレティコB)、ディエゴ・ロペス(バレンシア)、ファンル(セビージャ)らにもっと若いメンバーを加えた、五輪の指揮官でもあったサンティ・デニア監督の率いるチームはサクサク、2連勝で目的を果たすことに。 まあ、その出場権獲得祝いに加われなかったバリオス(アトレティコ)の話はまた後ですることにして、まさに頼もしい後輩たちですが、この9月代表戦は兄貴分たちもアウェイ戦が2試合続き、うーん、こちらはネーションズリーグ同グループの他3チーム、セルビア、スイス、デンマークも揃って、第1ユニが赤いというのもあるんですけどね。パステル調の色だけでなく、シャツの背中の首のところ付いている、赤いカーネーションを見る度、私もこんな可愛いユニでプレーして、敵に舐められるんじゃないかと思ったもの。それこそ先週木曜のグループリーグ初戦、セルビア戦でスコアレスドローした際など、7月に12年ぶりに戴冠したユーロのせいで、王者呆けしちゃったのかと恐れもしたところ、全然大丈夫。というのも…。 そう、日曜にジュネーブで2節のスイス戦に挑んだスペインA代表だったんですが、実は試合前はセルビア戦で足首に重度のネンザを負ったオジャルサバル(レアル・ソシエダ)が離脱していただけでなく、ダニ・オルモも打撲のせいで、プレーできないという逆境が発生。モラタ(アトレティコからミランに移籍)も負傷中で招集されていなかったこともあり、ゴール不足が懸念されていたんですけどね。蓋を開けてみれば、ええ、シメオネ監督もよく、「La pelota no quiso entrar/ラ・ペロータ・ノー・キソ・エントラル(ボールがゴールに入りたがらなかった)」と言い訳しているように、セルビア戦は本当に撃っても撃っても入らない日だっただけなのが判明したんですよ。 何よりの大当たりだったのは、デ・ラ・フエンテ監督がセルビア戦のアジョセ(ベティスからビジャレアルに移籍)から、CFをホセル(レアル・マドリーへのレンタルが終わってアル・ガラファに移籍)に変えたことで、早くも3分にはシュート。これは代表引退をしたゾマー(ミラン)の後を継いだGKコベル(ドルトムント)に弾かれてしまったものの、それから1分もしないうち、エリア内右奥からのジャマル(バルサ)のクロスをヘッドでジャストミートとは頼もしい。そのボールはコベルが弾いたものの、ゴールラインを越えていたことがVAR(ビデオ審判)で確認され、先制点となってくれたから、驚いたの何のって。 それでも初戦のデンマーク戦で2-0と負けていたスイスは同胞の熱い応援を受けて、すぐに反撃を開始。ユーロの後、ゾマー以外にもファビアン・シェア(ニューキャッスル)、ジェルダン・チャチリ(バーゼル)らも代表引退、その日は直前の試合で退場したグラニト・ジャカ(レバークーゼン)も出場停止だったにも関わらず、7分にはエンボロ(モナコ)のアシストでオメラジッチ(モンペリエ)にGKダビド・ラジャ(アーセナル)が破られているって、どういうこと?いえ、この時はプレーの起点でフロイラー(ボローニャ)の手にボールが当たり、ハンドのファールでゴールは認められなかったんですけどね。 実際、この試合の前半は波乱続きで、いえ、13分にニコ・ウィリアムス(アスレティック)のシュートがコベルに弾かれた後、エリア内に駆けつけたファビアン(PSG)が撃ち込んで、スペインは2点目をゲット。セルビア戦の精度のなさは一過性だったことを証明してくれたのは良かったですよ。それが21分、カウンターで抜け出したエンボロを追ったル・ノルマン(アトレティコ)が相手を力づくで止め、最後のDFのファールということで、レッドカードを出されてしまうとは、これ如何に。最初はエンボロがオフサイドだった可能性もあったため、私もすがるような思いで、VAR判定を待っていたんですが、そうは問屋が卸しません。 結局、オフサイドはなく、ル・ノルマンは退場に。いえ、アトレティコ的には代表2試合フル出場とならず、体力を温存できたのは有難いんですけどね。この試合の後半にイエローカードをもらい、累積警告となったカルハバル(マドリー)と共に、彼も10月最初の1試合は出場停止になるため、スペイン代表から、マドリッド勢が消滅してしまう危険もなきにしろあらず。まあ、そんな心配はもっと先にすればいいんですが、すぐにデ・ラ・フエンテ監督はペドリ(バルサ)を下げ、CBビビアン(アスレティック)を入れたとはいえ、残り70分以上、数的劣勢でプレーしなければいけなくなったスペインが持ち越えたのかというと…。 それが雨がザーザー降っていたスタッド・ドゥ・ジュネーブで、耐えちゃたどころじゃなかったんですよ。いえ、41分にはエンボロがヘッドで繋いだボールをアムドゥニ(ベンフィカ)にゴールに蹴り込まれ、1点差に迫られて、ハーフタイムに入ったスペインだったんですけどね。更に後半3分はやはりCKから、アンドゥニにヘッドされ、そのボールをビビアンがクリアし損ねて、オウンゴールに。その時は幸い、バルガス(アウクスブルク)のCKの軌道がゴールラインを越えていたおかげで命拾いという幸運に恵まれたんですが、10人で何とか、やりくりしていたスペインに再び、火が点いたのは残り15分となってからのことでした。 そう、後半頭から、「とても要求の高い前半のせいで疲れ果てていた」(デ・ラ・フエンテ監督)ジャマルとバトンタッチしたフェラン・トーレスが、バルサの先輩としての矜持を見せてくれたんですよ。32分にはGKラジャのロングキックを追って、敵エリアの右側からファビアンにキラーパス。これをユーロでも2得点を挙げているMFがゴールに変えると、その3分後にはまたフェランがホセルのスルーパスからドリブルで上がり、今度は自分で4点目を挙げてしまったとなれば、もう恐れるものは何もない? ゴールデンボーイ賞に異変? ベリンガムが数時間で爆発的な得票を得ることに、原因は“世界的歌姫”テイラー・スウィフト

「99%の希望を失った」スペインの名医がガビの負傷に言及「劇的な状況になってしまう」、原因は「選手の試合数」

女子W杯決勝戦になでしこのレジェンド宮間あやが!優勝トロフィー手にする姿が反響「日本の誇り」「この登場はしびれた」

レアルDFが結婚式! 相手はモデルで双子のウエディング・プランナー、チームメイトも参列し祝福

個人四冠、スペイン女子MFボンマティのバロンドール受賞を仲間が祝福!トロフィー付きのケーキに記念パネル「これは素晴らしい」
