代表でのポジション争いを歓迎するトリッピアー「人生には挑戦がつきもの」

アトレティコ・マドリーのイングランド代表DFキーラン・トリッピアーが代表でのポジション争いに意気込みを語った。イギリス『イブニング・スタンダード』が伝えている。

トリッピアーは今シーズン、アトレティコで公式戦35試合出場で6アシストをマーク。チームの2013-14シーズン以来、7季ぶり11度目となるラ・リーガ優勝に主軸として多大な貢献を果たした。

こうした活躍を受け、トリッピアーは6月に開幕するユーロ2020の代表メンバーに招集。しかし、代表チームの右サイドバックは多士済々であり、マンチェスター・シティのDFカイル・ウォーカー、リバプールのDFトレント・アレクサンダー=アーノルド、チェルシーのDFリース・ジェームズとポジションを争うことになる。
今回代表に招集された33人から最終的には26人にまで絞られることになり、誰が生き残るのか注目を集めているが、イギリス『PA』のインタビューに応じたトリッピアーはこうした競争を歓迎。その上で、メンバーに選ばれるために必死で取り組みたいと語った。

「代表での競争は熾烈だね。右サイドバックはたくさんいる。僕は(去年の)ネーションズリーグでメンバー選考から外れてしまったが、そこから立ち直ることが重要だった」
「人生には挑戦がつきものであり、僕たちは激しい競争を繰り広げている。ただ、僕はクラブのためにできるだけのことをしてきただけだ。毎週、非常に良いパフォーマンスをする必要があった」

「トッテナムでウォークス(カイル・ウォーカー)と何年も一緒にプレーしていたときも競争はあった。そして、それはイングランドでもそうだ」

トリッピアーに黒い噂… 賭博疑惑でFAが告発

頭部同士が激しく激突、動けず12分間も治療…担架で運ばれたイングランド女子代表DFにはスタンドから拍手

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」
