ユベントスのポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドがプロデビューを飾ったクラブとしても知られるスポルティング・リスボンに、新たな新星が誕生した。スペイン『アス』が伝えている。スポルティングは20日、プリメイラ・リーガ第24節のヴィトーリア・ギマランイスと対戦。1-0とリードして迎えた試合終盤の84分には、MFジョアン・マリオに代わって16歳のポルトガル人MFダリオ・エスーゴが途中出場を果たした。

2005年5月14日生まれのエスーゴはこれが待望のプロデビュー。16歳と11カ月12日でのデビューはクラブ史上最年少記録とともに、ポルトガル1部での最年少出場記録も更新した。
これまでのクラブ史上最年少出場記録は元ポルトガル代表DFのマルコ・カネイラ氏(17歳と1日)で、C・ロナウドは17歳と6カ月9日でのプロデビューだった。

夢を1つ叶えたエスーゴは、試合終了を知らせる笛とともに思わず涙。ユニフォームで両目を覆うと、それを見た先輩チームメイトたちから祝福されていた。
エスーゴは試合後、デビューの喜びを語っている。

「それは言葉では言い表せない感情で、僕はいつも夢見ていた。みんなに感謝しなければならない」

「これは始まりに過ぎず、ハードワークを続け、クラブの目標達成の手助けをしていく。シニアレベルでプレーするのは違う。みんながサポートしてくれてさらに緊張が緩んだ」

なお、スポルティング史上最年少得点記録は、C・ロナウドが持つ17歳と8カ月2日となっている。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

驚異の身体能力持つC・ロナウドの垂直跳びの記録は?かつてはほぼ3mの高さからヘディングシュート

C・ロナウドは破局したら毎月1600万円を支払い? 「妻」と呼んで話題のジョルジーナさんとの間に契約が発覚

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

プレミア昇格目指すバーンリーがスポルティングの10番MFエドワーズをレンタルで獲得、スパーズ時代の恩師パーカー監督が獲得熱望
