今月行われる国際親善試合とUEFAネーションズリーグに臨むスペイン代表は、招集していたバルセロナのFWアンス・ファティが7日のラ・リーガ第9節のレアル・ベティス戦で左ヒザ内側半月板損傷。代役として、アセンシオを追加招集した。
今季のラ・リーガで9試合に出場しているアセンシオは、大ケガからの復帰を経て、9月の代表活動で約1年ぶりに招集されていたものの、左ヒザの違和感で離脱していた。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「誰か説明してくれ」「めちゃくちゃだ」スペイン代表の新ユニフォームがリーク、蛍光イエローのアウェイが不評「もう白の無地にすればいい」
