パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)は14日、ブラジル代表FWネイマールに対する人種差別について、全面的なサポートを行うと声明を発表した。ネイマールは13日に行われたリーグ・アン第3節、マルセイユとの“ル・クラスィク”に臨み、0-1で敗戦。開幕2連敗という屈辱を味わった。
この試合では後半アディショナルタイムに両チーム合わせて5名が退場。ネイマールもその中の1人だったが、VAR(ビデオ・アシスタント・レフェリー)の介入により、マルセイユのスぺイン人DFアルバロ・ゴンサレスの後頭部を殴打したことが確認され、退場となっていた。
ネイマールは、この退場劇の裏側にアルバロからの人種差別発言があったと主張。「いいかげん口を閉じろ、汚い猿め!」と言われたとし、自身のツイッターでも「アイツの顔を殴らなかったことが唯一の後悔」と怒りをあらわにしていた。
この件を受け、PSGは声明を発表。ネイマールを完全に擁護する姿勢を見せ、人種差別発言の調査を待つとした。
