5日に行われたUEFAネーションズリーグのアイスランド代表とのアウェイゲームでA代表デビューを飾ったグリーンウッドだが、マンチェスター・シティMFフィル・フォーデンと共に宿泊先のホテルに2人の女性を連れ込む、愚行を犯したことが、アイスランド『DV』の取材によって発覚。
イングランドサッカー協会(FA)が定める代表活動中の行動規則、新型コロナウイルスのプロトコルのいずれも違反するこの行為を受け、ガレス・サウスゲート監督は両選手の即時代表追放を決断。さらに、今後FAの調査の末に懲戒処分が科される見込みだ。
処分直後に自身の公式『ツイッター』で謝罪を行ったフォーデンに対して、グリーンウッドは自身の公式アカウントを削除し、物議を醸していた。だが、8日にクラブ公式サイトを通じてようやく謝罪を行った。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

「可愛い!」ペガサスに乗って宙を舞うイングランド代表FWサカの衝撃写真が話題沸騰「この男を愛さないわけにはいかない」
