マンチェスター・ユナイテッドに所属するイングランド代表DFアーロン・ワン=ビサカが最もタフな相手として、マンチェスター・シティのイングランド代表FWラヒーム・スターリングを挙げた。イギリス『メトロ』が報じている。昨夏にクリスタル・パレスから移籍金5000万ポンド(現レートで約66億7000万円)で加入したワン=ビサカは、一対一の局面において無類の強さを発揮して、すぐさまレギュラーポジションを奪取。右サイドバックの1stチョイスとして、今や重要な選手だ。

2012年のリバプールで起こったブレンダン・ロジャーズ監督と、イングランド代表FWラヒーム・スターリングの衝突に関する真実が明らかになった。イギリス『リバプール・エコー』が伝えている。 共にリバプールを離れて、現在はレスター・シティの指揮官、マンチェスター・シティの絶対的な主力として活躍を続けている両者。その2人に関してはスターリングが2015年夏にシティに移籍した当時、関係悪化が盛んに報じられるなど不仲のイメージが定着している。 その不仲のイメージを強調するうえで語られてきたのが、ロジャーズ監督就任当時のアメリカツアーでの出来事だった。 スウォンジー・シティでの成功を引っ提げて、ケニー・ダルグリッシュ前監督の後任としてマージーサイドにやってきたばかりの青年監督に対して、スターリングは前シーズンにプレミアリーグデビューを飾ったばかりの期待の17歳という立場だった。 そのアメリカツアーではユーロ2012に参加した主力が不在ということもあり、ビッグクラブで初めて指揮を執るロジャーズ監督は、自身の権威をまずは控え選手たちに知らしめようと、躍起になっていた。 そして、グラウンド内のミーティングの際に槍玉として挙げられたのが、スターリングだった。 「頭を使う」、「立ち止まる」ことの重要性を説いていたロジャーズ監督は、目の前でやや反応が悪かったスターリングを名指しで叱責。 「こういった話は若いプレーヤーにとって重要であり、君はより注意を払うべきだ。そして、君は態度を改める必要がある。さっき口答えをしたんじゃないか。それを認めろ。このままだと飛行機で帰ってもらうことになるぞ」 これ対してスターリングは当惑しながらも、「口答えはしていません。僕が言ったのは…」と、やや不貞腐れた様子を見せていた。 そして、両者にとって不運だったのは、その様子が『FOX』のドキュメンタリー『Being:Liverpool』の密着カメラに撮られていたことだった。 その有名な衝突から約8年が経とうとしている中、当時ツアーに参加していた若手の1人で、現在はロッチデールでプレーする北アイルランド代表DFライアン・マクローリンがイギリス『The Athletic』で真実を語っている。 「あれはブレンダンが自身の権威を押し付けていたと思う。彼は若手プレーヤーがテングになることを嫌っていた」 「僕たちが高級車やハイブランドのウォッシュバッグを使うことを望んでいなかった。そして、『君たちはリバプールでトレーニングしているが、それがリバプールでプレーしていることを意味するわけではない』って話していたよ」 「一方、ラヒームはすでに有名だったし、周囲の誰もが彼の輝かしい未来を思い描いていたと思う。ブレンダンはラヒームが自分に口答えをしたと思っていたんだ。そして、彼は自分が気が弱い人間だと思われたくなくて、ああいう反応を見せたんじゃないかな」 「個人的にはすでに僕たちは彼に敬意を抱いていたのに、自分の力を固辞するためああいった対応はすべきではなかったと思っているよ」 さらに、その一件を含めてバッドボーイの印象が強いスターリングだが、マクローリンはそういったイメージが間違いであると、かつての同僚を擁護している。 「あの一件を含めて多くの人は彼に間違ったイメージを持っている気がするよ。ラヒームは本当は素晴らしい人間なんだ」 今回、現場に居合わせたマクローリンの証言が事実だとするならば、両者の衝突はビッグクラブ初挑戦で全く余裕がなかったロジャーズ監督の空回りだったと言える。 とはいえ、人間関係においては第一印象が大きく影響するだけに多感なスターリングが、ロジャーズ監督に悪感情を抱いたことは否定できない。 2020.04.20 21:45 Mon

香川真司がユナイテッド退団の転機を明らかに 「ディ・マリアとファルカオがやって来て…」

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす
ギネス世界記録も樹立した世界的スターであるポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドだが、トップに立ち続ける秘訣はトレーニングだけではない。 今夏12年ぶりに古巣のマンチェスター・ユナイテッドへと復帰したC・ロナウド。アルコールを摂取しないことや、厳しいトレーニングを誰よりも行っていることは有名な話だ。 今夏のユーロ2020では、記者会見時に自身が嫌っているコカ・コーラのボトルを退けたことが大きな話題に。株価にも多大なる影響を与えたとして、その影響力の高さを示した。 そのC・ロナウドだが、最も気をつけていると言っても良いのが食事だ。 C・ロナウドは、レアル・マドリーからユベントスへ移籍した際、1人のシェフを雇った。そのシェフは、ジョルジオ・バローネ氏。住み込みのシェフとして採用されたという。 まるで彫刻のような鍛え抜かれた肉体。36歳という年齢を考えれば、驚異とも言えるその姿の秘訣は、トレーニングではなく食事制限だった。 バローネ氏はイギリス『ミラー』でその秘密にてコメント。「高価な食べ物はない」と語り「健康食だ。私は有機食品と自然食品を使用している。魚、鶏肉、仔牛肉、卵、アボカド、ココナッツオイル、黒米などだ」と食材について明かした。 また、その気の遣い方については「フェラーリのケアをするように、体のケアをしなければいけない」とコメント。どれだけ気を配っているかが分かる。 C・ロナウドが好む食材は、魚、赤身のタンパク質料理、全粒穀物、サラダとのこと。タンパク質は筋肉の構築と修復の両方を助け、年齢による劣化を遅らせるという。 またカロリーの燃焼にも役立つと言い、「私はココナッツオイルを使って料理します。たくさんの水を飲むことも重要ですが、浄化されている。そしてたくさん飲む」とコメント。ただ、トレーニングもあってのものだと言い「もちろん、それはすべてハードなトレーニングと組み合わされています。しかし、休息は、午後を含め、トレーニングや栄養と同じくらい基本的です。そして、遅くではなく、夕方の早い時間に食事をします」とコメント。食事のタイミングや休むことも大事だとした。 世界記録となる代表通算「111」ゴールを記録したのも、トレーニング以外で努力をしている賜物。12年ぶりのプレミアリーグでもキレキレのパフォーマンスを見せてくれるだろうか。 <span class="paragraph-title">【写真】C・ロナウドの胃袋を支えるシェフと料理</span> <span data-other-div="photo"></span> <blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink="https://www.instagram.com/p/CPQf-zfpqrI/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading" data-instgrm-version="13" style=" background:#FFF; フレッチャー氏の双子の息子がユナイテッドとプロ契約 シティのアカデミーから昨夏加入
