マンチェスター・シティが、エスパニョールに所属するスペイン代表DFマリオ・エルモソ(24)をリストアップしているようだ。イギリス方面の情報をもとにスペイン『アス』が伝えている。

キャプテンを務めたベルギー代表DFヴァンサン・コンパニが今シーズン限りで退団したシティ。後釜探しに奔走しているプレミア王者はレスター・シティのイングランド代表DFハリー・マグワイアをリストアップしているとみられている。

しかし、推定移籍金はDF史上最高額となる9000万ユーロ(約110億円5000万円)。そこで、より安価な4000万ユーロ(約49億1000万円)の契約解除金が設定されているエルモソに切り替えることを考慮しているという。

そのエルモソは左サイドバックでもプレーが可能であり、負傷癖のあるフランス代表DFバンジャマン・メンディの代役を務めることができる。さらに、左利きのセンターバックであることからジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督の理想的な補強であると同メディアは指摘している。

正確なフィードを武器に昨年11月にスペイン代表デビューを飾るなど、頭角を現したエルモソ。アトレティコ・マドリーも熱視線を送っている模様だが、果たして…。
