元イングランド代表DFで、現在は解説者を務めるギャリー・ネビルは、クロアチア戦の黒星についてエースのハリー・ケインの負傷が響いたと考えているようだ。『ITV』がコメントを伝えた。

イングランドは11日、ロシア・ワールドカップ準決勝でクロアチアと対戦。前半5分にFKから先制しながら、延長戦の末に1-2と敗れ去った。ネビル氏はケインがコロンビア戦から問題を抱えていたと主張する。

「コロンビア戦の後半からもうあまり動けていなかった。スウェーデン戦でも大人しかったね。言い訳ではないが、いつもの調子ではなかった」

それでも、若いチームでベスト4と躍進した母国に、ネビル氏は楽観的な目線を向けている。

「大会で最も若いチームだった。3週間前、チームにつながりはなかった。人々も絶望のたぐいの眼差しで見ていた。今は全員がこの3週間でチームを愛し、誇りに思っていることだろう」

さらに続けて、2年前にアイスランドに敗れ、大会を去ることになったユーロ2016を持ち出しながら、進歩を口にしている。

「間違いなく2年前のアイスランド戦から進歩している。選手たちもこういった試合でプレッシャーと向き合うことが難しいとわかった。このチームは今、良い瞬間、良いプレッシャーを味わえたんだ。ギャレス(サウスゲート)は素晴らしかった。彼はとても失望しているだろうけどね」

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

「可愛い!」ペガサスに乗って宙を舞うイングランド代表FWサカの衝撃写真が話題沸騰「この男を愛さないわけにはいかない」

イングランドサッカー協会(FA)とナイキは18日、イングランド代表の新ユニフォームを発表した。 ガレス・サウスゲイト監督のもと、2018年のロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)はベスト4、2021年のユーロ2020は準優勝、2022年のカタール・ワールドカップはベスト8と、一定の成績を残し続けているイングランド。6月に開幕するユーロ2024の出場権も獲得し、スロベニア代表、デンマーク代表、セルビア代表と同居するグループCに入っている。 そのユーロでも着用する新ユニフォームだが、ホームユニフォームはクラシックなデザインに。遠目で見ると白の無地に見えるが、薄っすらと同色のストライプがデザインされている。 袖口には、過去の代表のトレーニングウェアからヒントを得たという、ネイビー、青、赤の3色のラインが入っており、ネイビーの襟の裏側にはイングランドの国旗をアレンジしたものがあしらわれた。 一方のアウェイユニフォームは、過去の代表の象徴的なユニフォームを現代的にアレンジし、目を引くパープルで大胆に主張。シャツのサイドにはイングランドのファッションにちなんだという7色で構成されたラインが入っているほか、襟の裏にはイングランドの国旗をサイドのラインと同じ7色であしらった。 イングランド代表の新ユニフォームは「クラシックで最高」、「買うしかない」、「最高にクール」と好評の声が多いが、アウェイは紫色という意外なカラーだったこともあり「美しい色だ」、「アウェイは赤であるべきだ」、「初めてじゃないか」、「その色のチョイスはなしだ」と意見が分かれている。 <span class="paragraph-title">【写真】アウェイは紫!イングランド代表の新ユニフォーム</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink="https://www.instagram.com/p/C4phrSHNpec/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" data-instgrm-version="14" style=" background:#FFF;
