元アーセナル指揮官のアーセン・ヴェンゲル氏は、フランス代表、ブラジル代表、そしてイングランド代表でワールドカップ優勝が争われるだろうと話した。

6月14日に開幕したロシア・ワールドカップもとうとうベスト8が出揃った。優勝候補の筆頭とされていたドイツ代表がグループリーグで敗退し、スペイン代表、アルゼンチン代表もベスト16で姿を消すなど、強豪の早期敗退が相次いだ今大会で、ヴェンゲル氏は3カ国のいずれかが優勝するだろうと『beINスポーツ』で明かした。

「私の中で本命はもちろんフランスだ。これまでに人口が4000万人を下回る国は1954年以降優勝できていないと何度も言ってきたが、4000万人よりも少ないベルギーを優勝争いから外すことができるかと問いたい。彼らはそれだけのクオリティを持っていると思う。クロアチアに驚かされる可能性もある。彼らだってそのクオリティがある」

「鶏デカすぎ」「ケンタッキーとのコラボか?」フランス代表の新ユニフォームにはビッグサイズのロゴが採用「巨大すぎない?」

まさかのメキシコ移籍から9年弱、気づけば38歳…元フランス代表FWジニャックが史上3人目の大記録達成!
