マンチェスター・シティは16日、アルゼンチン代表FWフリアン・アルバレス(23)との契約延長を発表した。新たな契約期間は2028年6月30日までとなる。
新契約にサインしたアルバレスは、公式サイトで以下のように喜びを語った。

2022年1月にリーベル・プレートからシティへと完全移籍したアルバレスは、昨年7月までのレンタル移籍でリーベル・プレートに残り、その後シティへ復帰。今季はここまで19試合で5ゴール。チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でも6試合で2ゴール2アシストを記録している。
また、アルゼンチン代表としてカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場し、献身的な守備の姿勢を見せながらも4ゴール1アシストを記録するなど、36年ぶり3度目の優勝に貢献した。

VARで失敗に覆ったアルバレスのPK、本人は2度蹴りの自覚なし「ボールに触れた感覚はなかった」

シティDFラポルテが同僚の“タトゥー” を品定め、エデルソンは「多いけど、かっこよくはない」
