17日、自身の故郷でもあるチェゼナーティコで行われたパーティに参加したザッケローニ氏がインタビューに応対。古巣のミランやセリエAについて語る中で、日本代表監督時代についても語った。

「特別な4年だった。世界のどこにも存在しないほど、そこにはリスペクトがあった。天皇陛下に会った時、2500人の人がいた。しかし、彼は私に手を差し伸べてくれた。これは今までになかったことだ」

「人々は彼らを目にした時、泣き始めた。その国を去ることがとても大変だった。3日間涙した」

「ある女性からは、生まれたばかりの息子にザックという名前を付けたとも聞いた」

また、自身の今後についても問われると、意外な返答が。監督としての仕事を行わないと明かした。

「私はもうトレーニングしない。チェゼナーティコで、私の家族との時間を楽しみたい」

2000人に調査! 最も上司にしたい日本代表監督、森保一監督は4位、1位は? 社長に向いているのはあのベテラン

日本代表の新ユニフォームの発表時期が判明?続々と各国がお披露目している中で日本は遅めの発表か
