キエッリーニが引退発表へ…今季はMLSカップ決勝まで行くもタイトル逃す

キエッリーニが引退を決断か

ユベントスやイタリア代表でもプレーし、現在はメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のロサンゼルスFCに所属するDFジョルジョ・キエッリーニ(39)が引退を決断したようだ。

リヴォルノでキャリアをスタートさせたキエッリーニ。2004年7月にフィオレンティーナへと完全移籍すると、2005年7月にユベントスへと完全移籍する。

ユベントスでは公式戦561試合に出場し36ゴールを記録。キャプテンとして守備の要として長らくチームを支え、イタリア代表としても117試合に出場し、ユーロ2020の優勝にも貢献していた。

2022年7月にロサンゼルスFCに完全移籍。2年目を迎えた今シーズンはケガでの離脱もありながら、リーグ戦20試合に出場し1ゴールを記録。MLSカップ(プレーオフ)に進出すると、チームは連勝を重ねて決勝進出。9日にコロンバス・クルーとの決勝が行われたが、2-1で敗れ、惜しくも優勝を逃していた。

ジャーナリストのロメオ・アグレスティ氏によれば、キエッリーニは12日にも引退を発表する予定とのこと。来年夏までの契約がある中で、シーズン終了と共にスパイクを脱ぐことになるという。

引退後はMLSの発展に貢献する考えもある一方で、古巣であるユベントスに復帰する可能性もあるとのこと。長らく第一線でプレーしたキエッリーニの決断が注目だ。

“噛みつき”スアレス、CLの一幕で新たな技を編み出す!OBたちは「叱った甲斐があった(笑)」
