衝撃の”1-7”での敗北当時のキャプテンD・ルイスが思いを語る「失望を与えた」

アーセナルに所属する元ブラジル代表DFダビド・ルイス(33)が2014年のブラジル・ワールドカップ(W杯)を振り返った。『ESPN』が伝えている。

1950年大会以来2回目の母国開催となったブラジル代表にとって負けられない大会となったブラジル大会だが、その結末は残酷なものだった。

準決勝でドイツと対峙するが、準々決勝のコロンビア戦で警告をもらったDFチアゴ・シウバは累積警告のため出場停止。さらに、エースのFWネイマールも同試合で脊椎を骨折し欠場を余儀なくされていた。

チームとして完成されていたドイツ代表は前半11分のFWトーマス・ミュラーの先制点で勢いづくと、23分からの6分間で4ゴールを立て続けに奪った。結果的にスコアは1-7となり、ブラジル代表にとっての最大差敗戦記録に並び、選手たちは涙を流しながらピッチを後にした。

この試合で、チアゴ・シウバの代わりにキャプテンマークをつけたD・ルイスが、「ミネイロンの悲劇」とも称されるこの苦い思い出について、2007〜2011年まで在籍したベンフィカの公式サイトのインタビューで答えた。

「その試合まで、僕はワールドカップで最高の選手だったかもしれない。その試合は皆にとって失望だった。2、3点差をつけられてから逆転することになれていなかった。突然に、それは大きなダメージだった」
