東京オリンピックでは日本代表戦でもゴールを決め、銀メダルを獲得したバレンシアのスペイン代表MFカルロス・ソレールが意外な事実を告白した。

バレンシアの下部組織出身のソレールは、これまでラ・リーガで150試合に出場し22ゴール20アシストを記録するなど、公式戦188試合で26ゴール26アシストを記録している。

U-24スペイン代表として今夏行われた東京オリンピックに参戦。全6試合に出場しチームの銀メダル獲得に貢献した。

そのソレールは、東京オリンピックでの活躍も認められ、9月のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)欧州予選に臨むスペイン代表に初招集。スウェーデン代表戦、ジョージア代表戦と2試合に先発出場し連続ゴールを記録していた。

そのソレールは、スペイン代表のインタビューに応じ、自身のキャリアのスタートについてコメント。祖父による意外なものが理由でサッカーを始めたと明かした。

「祖父はいつも僕と一緒にいてくれた。彼は僕をパテルナのトレーニングに連れて行ってくれたんだ」

「僕が5歳の時、僕はすでにビデオゲームが大好きだったんだ。そして、祖父は僕がサッカーチームに入れば、ゲームボーイを買ってくれると言ったんだ」

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

モロッコの国家的プロジェクト…ブラヒム&16歳ヤマルに政府高官が接触、自国にルーツの海外出身選手でA代表強化へ
