2015年からウェストハム所属の古株マイケル・アントニオ。身長180cmとさほど大柄ではないが、鍛え上げられた肉体を武器にした強靭なフィジカルと爆発的な加速力は33歳を迎えても衰える気配なし。ウェストハム不動の1トップだ。
今シーズンもプレミアリーグ開幕5試合に全て先発出場し、第2節のチェルシー戦の弾丸ミドルを含む2ゴールとチームを牽引中。その裏では2024年6月までとなっている契約の延長に向けた協議が始まっているとのことだ。
現行契約には1年間の延長オプションも付いているようだが、新契約で合意できなかった場合に備え、多くのクラブが衰え知らずの33歳を注視し続けている模様。今夏はウォルバーハンプトンやノッティンガム・フォレスト、エバートンが関心を寄せ、アル・イテファクは獲得に本腰を入れていたとされている。

猫を蹴飛ばし、平手打ち…虐待動画流出のズマが謝罪 「あのような行為は二度と起こらない」
