ウェストハムは6日、レアル・ベティスを退団したアルゼンチン代表MFギド・ロドリゲス(30)の加入を発表した。
契約期間に関する詳細は明かされていないが、1年の延長オプションを含む2年契約となったようだ。
30歳でプレミアリーグ初挑戦となる経験豊富な守備的MFは、クラブ公式チャンネルを通じて新天地での意気込みを語った。

また、2017年6月にアルゼンチン代表デビューを飾ると、ここまでは通算30キャップを刻み、2022年カタール・ワールドカップと直近の2度のコパ・アメリカ、2022年のフィナリッシマで優勝を経験している。
185cmの恵まれた体躯と闘争心を生かした中盤での潰しを最大の特長としているが、単なる潰し屋ではなくポジショニングやプレーリードにも優れる守備的MFだ。また、ベティスではマヌエル・ペジェグリーニ監督の下でボールの主導権を握るスタイルの中盤の繋ぎ役として問題なく機能していた。
