マンチェスター・シティに所属するアルジェリア代表FWリヤド・マフレズ(30)が交際していたテイラー・ウォードさん(23)と婚約した。イギリス『サン』が伝えている。

マフレズはレスター・シティでプレミアリーグ優勝に貢献するとともに、自身もサイドアタッカーとして評判を高め、2018年夏にマンチェスター・シティへ移籍。3年間で公式戦179試合48得点38アシストの数字を収め、ジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督の下でも貴重な攻撃オプションとして重宝される。

一方のテイラーさんは有名インテリアデザイナーのドーンさんと元プロサッカー選手のアシュリー・ウォード氏のもとに生まれた4人娘の1人で、職業はモデルだ。

『サン』によると、2人は2020年12月にチェシャー州に200万ポンド(約3億円)の邸宅を購入し、愛をはぐくんでいたようだ。

交際16カ月を迎えた2人は、マフレズのオフシーズンを利用してギリシャのミコノス島に休暇に出かけていたが、その場でマフレズがプロポーズしたという。

テイラーさんは21日、自身のインスタグラムを更新。左手の薬指に婚約指輪をはめた写真とともに喜びを露わにした。

「私が人生をともにしたいと思うのは他に誰もいません。これが私たちの人生です。一緒に年をとっていくのが待ちきれません。あなたを愛しています」

マフレズは2015年にリタ・ヨハルさんと結婚したものの、2019年に離婚。前妻との間には2人の子供がいる。
