アーセナルの公式ツイッターは13日に、エミレーツスタジアムにおける岩渕の姿を紹介。観客のいないピッチサイドで、目をつむり微笑みながら両手を大きく広げる姿を公開した。

舞台女優さながらの様子には「私たちの多くは彼女のプレーが見たいと思っている」、「ラインナップに彼女がいなくて寂しい」、「とても恋しいよ」、「シャイニング」、「かわいすぎる」といったコメントが寄せられている一方、「けどマナはいつもベンチ」との嘆き節や、岩渕ではなく代表活動中に足首を負傷したDFリア・ウィリアムソンの方を心配する声が寄せられた。

昨季終了後に両足首を手術した岩渕は、開幕戦などでベンチ入りを果たすも、今季はここまで出場なし。新加入のライバルに後れを取っている状況だ。10月に日本国内で行われたなでしこジャパンの活動にも招集されておらず、我慢の日々が続いている。

女子は代表ウイークを終えて今週末からFA 女子スーパーリーグ(FA WSL)が再開する。アーセナルは16日の第4節でレディングとアウェイで対戦し、19日には女子チャンピオンズリーグ(UWCL)のグループステージで昨季女王のリヨンと対戦。23日はリバプール戦と、敵地での連戦が続く。

もちろん焦りは禁物だが、来年にはオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)が控えていることもあり、試合勘を取り戻す意味でも、早期の出場が待たれている。

シティがFAWSL最多の80ゴール、アーセナル退団のオランダ女子代表FWミーデマを獲得!

ソックスは「赤」、日本代表のアウェイユニフォームが発表!南野拓実「美しい日本のイメージが表現」

ヴェンゲル、スアレスへの“4000万1ポンド”オファーを反省「馬鹿げていた…」
