新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の陽性判定を受けたクロアチア代表MFイバン・ペリシッチが自身のインスタグラムで状態を報告した。

コロナ感染で隔離となったペリシッチが心境を綴る

ペリシッチは、クロアチア代表の一員としてユーロ2020に出場。グループステージ3試合に出場し、2ゴールを記録するなどチームのベスト16入りに貢献していた。

そのクロアチアは、28日にスペイン代表とラウンド16で対戦。しかし、ペリシッチは新型コロナウイルスの検査で陽性判定を受け、10日間の隔離措置を取ることが決定していた。

これにより、スペイン代表戦を始め、準々決勝、準決勝も出場できないことが確定したペリシッチ。クロアチアが決勝に進出すれば隔離が解けて出場が可能となる状況だ。

ペリシッチは大一番を前に隔離生活に入ったことをインスタグラムで報告。今大会でもう1度プレーするとチームメイトを信じる旨を綴った。

「ほんとんどの人が知っている通り、僕はCOVID-19で陽性判定を受けた。たくさんのメッセージありがとう」

「今は体調も良くなったけど、明日クロアチアを助けることができないことがとても残念だ」

「でも、素晴らしいファンのみんなのサポートがあれば、選手たちは素晴らしい試合をしてくれると確信している」

「そして、もしかしたら最終的にはこの大会でもう一度プレーすることになるだろう」

ここまで2ゴールでチームに貢献したペリシッチ。決勝のピッチに立てるかどうかは、チームメイトに委ねられることとなった。
