イングランド代表主将のFWハリー・ケインがユーロ2024での初戦白星に安堵した。初制覇を目指す前回準優勝のイングランドは16日のグループC第1節でセルビア代表と対戦。13分にジュード・ベリンガムのヘッドで先手を奪ってからセルビアの粘りに苦しんだが、1-0で勝ち切った。

ケインはヘディングシュートがクロスバーに嫌われたりと無得点に終わったが、イギリス『BBC』でタフな国を相手にしての白星スタートを喜んだ。
「タフな試合になるのはわかりきったことだった。セルビアはかなりの脅威で、優秀な選手もいる。彼らがバトルを挑んでくるなか、うまく対処できたと思う」

「後半はボックス内を陣取り、そこを抜け出すのが大変だったけど、今夜の勝利は重要だった」
「厳しい試合だった。彼らはタフなチームだし、良い選手が揃っている。そのなかで、僕らはよく凌ぎ、3ポイントとともに前進できて良かった。今日、勝てて良かったよ」

また、初戦から決勝ゴールを決め、期待通りの働きを披露したジュード・ベリンガムについては「信じられない選手だ」と賛辞の言葉を送っている。

イングランドは20日の次戦、引き分けスタートのデンマーク代表と対戦する。

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー

ベリンガムのジェスチャーがUEFAの調査対象に…本人は「友人同士のジョーク」と釈明も

両監督が試合後の揉め事に言及…トゥヘル「侮辱されたわけでも、傷つけられたわけでもない」、コンテ「次回はもっと注意を払う」

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

ブリッジは“不倫男”テリーを未だに許さず? 自身の近くに引っ越し発覚後、自宅を売却に出す

ベッカムがウェンブリーでファーガソンと再会!息子ロメオも笑顔で2ショット
