イルハン・マンスズの名を覚えているだろうか。
今から20年前の2002年に日韓ワールドカップが開催。国中がサッカーに沸いた中、その中でもひと際注目を集めたのが、当時イングランド代表だったデイビッド・ベッカム氏だ。日本では“ベッカム・フィーバー”が巻き起こり、その髪型を模したモヒカンヘアーも流行った。
そして、もう1人“イケメン”として脚光を浴びたのがトルコ代表だったイルハンだ。
「イルハン王子」の愛称で女性を中心にファンを獲得し、テレビや雑誌でも特集がなされた。長髪をなびかせながら頭の上で髪の毛をとめるちょんまげスタイルにクシャっとした笑顔は多くの人のハートを撃ち抜いた。
ピッチの上でも、控えという立場ながら全7試合に出場すると、チーム最多の3得点をマーク。トルコの史上初の3位という結果に大きく貢献している。
そのイルハンは大会後の2004年にヴィッセル神戸へと加入。Jリーグでは負傷の影響もありほとんど出場機会もないまま、最終的には無断帰国という形での退団となったが、その意味でも記憶に残っている人はいるのではないだろうか。
現役引退後にはフィギュアスケーターへの転身も明らかになったイルハン。46歳になったイルハンのSNSを覗くとすっかり“イケオジ”になったようだ。
トルコ代表の公式SNSや現地のメディアなどは22日、「今から20年前、イルハンのゴールで代表が準決勝に進出」と当時を振り返っており、現地では、代表チームを史上初のW杯3位に導いた英雄として認識されているようだ。

6日、来日しているインテル・マイアミの来日記念パーティーが開催。集まった豪華メンバーに注目が集まっている。
元イングランド代表MFのデイビッド・ベッカム氏が共同オーナーを務めるメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミ。アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシをはじめ、ウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレス、元スペイン代表MFセルヒオ・ブスケッツ、DFジョルディ・アルバと元バルセロナの選手が多く所属している。
そのインテル・マイアミは、2024シーズンの開幕を前にプレシーズンツアーを実施。アル・ヒラル、アル・ナスルのサウジアラビア勢と戦った後、4日に香港選抜チームと対戦。7日には「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」にて国立競技場でヴィッセル神戸と対戦することとなっている。
6日の昼には、神戸戦に向けた記者会見も実施されていたなか、夜には来日記念パーティーが開催。「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」の公式X(旧ツイッター)がその様子を伝えている。
最高額は1人300万円というスペシャル・エクスペリエンス・シートのチケットを持っている一般の参加者もいる中、パーティーには、インテル・マイアミの選手だけでなく、メッシらとバルセロナでも一緒にプレーし、神戸でもプレーしていた元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタ(現エミレーツ・クラブ)や神戸の三木谷浩史代表取締役会長の姿もあった。
豪華メンバーの集まりには、ファンも「ほぼバルサの同窓会じゃん」、「これは夢ですか?」、「当時のスタメン5人が式典に居るって凄いです」、「メンツえぐすぎる」とコメント。3冠達成を果たした2014-2015シーズンなどバルセロナの黄金期の主力を担った選手たちの再会に喜びの声を寄せている。

ヴィッセル神戸のFW大迫勇也の妻でありモデルの三輪麻未さんが、スタジアムでの思い出と共にシーズンを振り返った想いを綴った。
三輪さんはモデルとして活躍。2014年3月に大迫と結婚。2人の女の子を出産した。
大迫とともにドイツへも渡り、現在は日本で生活。神戸でプレーする夫を支えている。
大迫は今シーズンはケガが多く、満足に稼働できないシーズンに。欠場が続く中、チームは長らく最下位に位置し、AFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)でも決勝トーナメントは1試合しかプレーできず、チームも苦しいシーズンとなった。
最終盤で復帰すると、調子を上げてゴールを記録。チームは連勝を収めて残留争いで生き残ったが、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のメンバーからはまさかの落選となった。
夫が難しいシーズンを過ごした中、三輪さんが自身のインスタグラムを更新。初めてスタジアムで撮れたという家族写真とともに、シーズンを終えた心境を綴った。

サッカー関連のあらゆる統計データを研究している機関『CIES Football Observatory』が、各国主要リーグに所属する各クラブの選手平均年齢を発表している。
欧州5大リーグの中で最も平均年齢が低かったのはミラン。重鎮FWズラタン・イブラヒモビッチが39歳でバリバリ活躍しているが、30歳超えの選手はDFマテオ・ムサッキオやDFシモン・ケアー、GKアントニオ・ドンナルンマら5人しかおらず、今夏にブレシアから加入したMFサンドロ・トナーリや、レジェンドのパオロ・マルディーニ氏を父に持つダニエル・マルディーニら25歳以下が大半を占めており、24.5歳という最低平均年齢を記録した。
2番目に若いのはモナコの24.7歳で、以下はスタッド・ランス(24.8歳)、サンテチェンヌ(24.8歳)とリーグ・アン勢が続く。トップ10ではリーグ・アンのクラブが5チーム入っており、そのほかではドイツのシュツットガルト(24.9歳)やライプツィヒ(25.1歳)、ラ・リーガのバレンシア(25.2歳)、プレミアリーグのブライトン(25.3歳)がランクインした。
UEFA管轄リーグで最も低かったのは、ラトビアのFKメタの20.7歳。2番目はスロバキアのMSKジリナ(21.2歳)、3番目はアイスランドのIFグロッタ(22.0歳)となっている。UEFA以外では、ウズベキスタンのナサフ・カルシが23.9歳で最も平均年齢が低かった。
