ポーランド代表は、13日にカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)終了後の昨年12月から同代表を率いていたフェルナンド・サントス監督の解任を発表していた。
新監督に就任したプロビエシュ監督は、2005年から指導者に転向し、ポーランドの国内クラブやギリシャのアリス・テッサロニキで監督を歴任。2022年7月にU-21ポーランド代表の監督就任すると、これまで10試合で5勝3分け2敗の戦績を残していた。
PZPNのチェザリー・クレツァ会長は、公式サイトで｢ミハウ・プロビエシュがポーランドの監督に就任した。最高の選択だ。新監督の成功を祈っている｣との声明を発表している。
なお、5試合を終えたユーロ2024予選で2勝3敗の4位と苦戦するポーランドは、10月12日にフェロー諸島とアウェイで、15日にモルドバ代表とホームで対戦する。

「すげえ!頭良い」年間最優秀選手のレヴァンドフスキ、娘の髪を束ねる方法も斬新で一流だった
